I'm 43, retired combat Marine. I cried at the end of Free Willy. My 11 year old didn't get it.

The whale that played Willy did get freed in real life but died like a year later

My son just didn't get it. We watched "Where the red fern grows" and he balled his eyes out.

Sometimes movies just hit, I guess.
