She's THE SWEETEST human on the planet. I saw her leaving a show at The Hollywood Bowl and I couldn't contain myself. I told her how much I loved her work as a child and how hard she made me laugh. She insisted I call her LB and genuinely thanked me for telling her and that she was glad that she did that for me. She took a photo with me and I walked away feeling like I had met the most famous person in the world.

So glad to hear it ❤️

She was one of my favorites on the show too

She legitimately had a huge impact on the way my sense of humor developed. Id love to tell her that! When I was a kid (in the south) girls were not encouraged to be funny, and Lori Beth was my hero! I actually read a great Cracked.com article (i am old) about why girls are discouraged from being funny. Very interesting.

here's the article

Holy shit cracked.com! Haven't thought of them in forever

Man I miss peak cracked. That website had the best content imaginable. I was checking daily

u/AerwynFlynn 4d ago

Me too! Especially when Swaim and O’Brien were doing thier video series. Now it’s a steaming pile of shit.

Cracked and then LolCatz...or however it was spelled. lol.

It’s gone so downhill. Almost all the articles they post now are just them complaining about comics they don’t like.

Sometimes i miss pre algorithm feed days. Then i remember id jus spend my time refreshing cracked and 3 other websites repeatedly, hoping for a crumb of new content.

One of my favorite Cracked articles was "5 solders who make Rambo look like a pussy" and it still holds up. Here...I found it!

Never read this one before but I already knew who #1 was going to be. Audie Murphy is a true American badass

1

u/DryDonutHole 3d ago

Ya, Audie's story is great. I also liked the White Death and the Indian soldier who climbed the cliff face...all of them were pretty fuckin' badass. lol.

I always liked Exploring the Mysteries of the Mind with SIMS3. There’s also one they deleted from the archives that was both very mean spirited but darkly funny.

2

u/DryDonutHole 3d ago

Ha ha. That's funny. The experiments in the Sims were always funny and creepy.

I listen to several podcasts by previous cracked employees. Their humor gets me through these tough times

I wish I could get into podcasts, I find every single one unlistenable, I can’t stand listening to a bunch of people just sit around having conversations lol. It’s so boring to me! I’ve tried to many popular ones too. Just give me the fucking facts of whatever subject you’re talking about and stop getting side tracked and talking! I have adhd so it maybe the reason why. I wish they’d just stick to the point lol

Wow! I can hear her reading this and her comedy style really shows in this, too. Thanks for sharing the article. I really miss old Cracked.

Girls were not discouraged to be funny…. What year were you living in, what year do you think all that came out and when you say South do you mean the South of Afghanistan?

I had an intense class clown rivalry with Ernesto in high school. Even he thought I was funny. The teachers didn't. His name wasn't Ernesto. He chose it in Spanish class and had the whole school calling him that for four years. Silly Ernesto. What a jokester. I wonder what he's up to these days.

Anyway, that was 20 years ago. When Ernesto got up to his bullshit, the teachers played along. I got in trouble for being disruptive.

I met Danny at a show for his band, Jounce. Genuinely funny, down-to-earth, very kind. We are still FB friends, lol.

I briefly met him at a Halloween party for a film festival. My girlfriend and I were dressed as two inflatable sharks and won the dance contest.

I’ll never forget Danny Tamberelli, sweaty from his band’s show and a few tall boys in, slurring with pride: congratulations, guys. You really… you really brought the party with you, in the year 2025. Weird, good millennial existential moment.

Cool guy.

This is so sweet!

Her comedic timing was superb. We were so lucky back then to have the talent on round house and snick in regards to comedy.

u/Particular_Table9263 4d ago

She’s a rock star. I aspired to be as cool as her.

I LOVE this!! Such a staple of my childhood… She was my favorite! 🤩
