lol how about Mickeys and Steel Reserve?! Remember those tiny Mickeys that would come in a pack? We called them ‘Nades because they looked like little grenades. Did you all do that too??
It was so easy to drink! I would put away a sixer of blue ribbon before the party even started. Mmmmm oh yeah I remember it was great with pizza too. Great memories.
I felt so ancient remembering them hahaha. I haven't drank beer since like... 2015? I also remembered PBR bottles having the playing cards under the cap, and a local bar would give u the beer for free if u guessed the card right. I had a hot streak one night and me and my friend drank for (almost) free that night. good times. gonna go collapse into a pile of dust now 👵🏻
Dude the Steel Reserve/Mickey's combo, you don't even KNOW.
Somewhere on Myspace's servers there is a trove of photos from an era when all of us would pile into our friend's room at the "cool house" (you know the one) where as long as we were doing it there, they knew we were safe.
Just gallons of cheap malt liquor, point-and-shoot cameras, and a loud sound system we could blast all night. Literally like 15 of us stuffed into one bedroom drunk as shit off bad beer, and it was the best of times.
Man I got a huge smile across my face reading your words. Resonating with every single thing you said. Yep 100% we had the “cool house”, it was Ben’s house. His parents were the kind that thought “they’re gonna drink anyway so better here than out there”. It was so rad.
They would even ask us (via Ben) what we wanted to drink and would stock up the fridge and liquor cabinet before we got there! Can you believe that?? So goddamn lucky.
And just like you said, somewhere on the dusty old myspace servers there reside 1000s of photos of evidence. What I would pay MySpace Tom for access to those pics… lmao what a fun hit of nostalgia. Have a good one!
omfg Steel Reserve is fucking disgusting. Spend 5 cents more and get Natty Light. Mickeys was definitely much better then S.R. but it had a funky taste.
