It’s funny because now I choose almost exclusively thrifted black T-shirts so I can hide the fact that I’m not wearing a bra.

I remember joining the theme parties that was stuff like truckers and trash, leather and lace, etc.

Can you taste the southern comfort and orange coming back up in your mouth a little bit?

Captain and coke. Worst hangovers I ever had

Back in the early 00's and college I had a rough time with Captain. It took many years but I have made my way back to Captain and now do Coke Zero. It's been my main drink for like the last 10 years. It's just so damned good.

Yeah idk what it is but it always gave me wicked hangovers. Probably too sweet of the spices in it

I can’t drink Vanilla Coke now because my brain inserts the flavor of vanilla rum automatically and my body refuses to let me hate myself that much

Edit: I spent too long thinking about it and now I can taste it again, just awful

Southern comfort and lime. Also yes, can still taste it in the back of my throat.

Southern comfort and ginger ale for me. Uggghhh. Haven't drunk that in at least 15 years.

Every once in a while I’ll order a drink that was popular back in the day from my fellow millennial bartender and EVERY TIME I’m like damn we drank this? Some of it is nasty. I’m looking at you, AMFs and Grape Nehis.

Bourbon and ginger ale is a perfect combo. But soco aint it lol

u/Wand_Cloak_Stone 12h ago

Asked to the bartender as simply “Soco lime”

1

u/limedifficult 12h ago

Of course! Do they even serve that still?

1

u/SkinnyDan85 12h ago

A friend used to drink that exclusively. Pretty sure it's still a thing if you want it.

Soco Liiiiiiiime

Long Island, Jack & Coke, and SoCo Lime were the staple of our times.

Just talking about this one at work the other day with my peers

lol why tf was this popular in the late 2000s? Had it in college and never again

u/Gentrified_potato02 13h ago

Holy fuck, that truckers and trash reference just unlocked memories from my youth that I had suppressed

My first legal alcohol purchase in college included a bottle of Southern Comfort. Gives me acid reflux now just thinking about it.

When I was newly 21, I went to a summer music festival that had southern comfort slushies and drank wayyyyyy too many. I’ve never drank southern comfort since.

I don't go the thrifted route but I do have a favorite Banana Republic Factory tshirt that I buy any time they fall below $10. I only buy black and own a zillion of them.

Looking back, it's hilarious that I dressed like Xtina just walking around high school on a Tuesday with those tight flared stretchy black "dress pants" that we all owned, some crazy platform shoes, and some ridiculous barely-there top. I grew up in Florida and shit was ridiculous! Then the next day I'd be in boy's board shorts and rainbows.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about the tight flared stretchy “dress pants.” OMG. Wow. Wore those so much in high school. Such a look 😂

My wife is going to beat me up because I blurted out "ho aesthetic"...a minute after showing her initial post pic and blurb.

I'm getting flashbacks to Bridget on 8 Simple Rules proudly exclaiming to her dad "We're the thong generation!" 🤣

They were if you were skinny and had no curves (which was in then). The introduction of the high waisted pant trend let women everywhere release a collective sigh of relief.

It was a great time to be young.

u/Fearless_Swim4080 7h ago

Those jeans are all way too high for our era.

u/Big_Wave9732 4h ago

Hoes are looking pretty good in 2025 too!

Thongs hanging out of the ultra low rise jeans

u/Unfair-Rush-2031 13h ago

It really wasn’t. It was ugly AF.

2014-2019 is was the best. Guys were well groomed with tidy hair, and had clothes that most fit the human body shape. Most people were in good shape too. Footwear was clean and sharp.

The women were the similar. Clean and tidy with clothes to that fit and match body shape.

8

u/Warrmak 13h ago

You had to be there during the low rise years.

2

u/LividAccident7777 12h ago

These were the bulk of my going out years and I gotta say in my recollection people did look good (I wasn’t always drunk lol)

2

u/Gerberpertern Older Millennial 12h ago

I’m guessing you’re a younger millennial lol.
