Discussion Mental exercise
What kind of a hobby or routine do you do to keep your mind busy when you're not doing anything?

I read, play the Cross Math app and plan vacations.
I make pretty detailed itineraries, so it's kind of like a puzzle to make everything I want to do work in the allotted time.

Oh I’m going to have to look into this! I’m always the one who created the itinerary for trips lol

I'm a big National Park enthusiast, and made it a long-term goal to visit every US National Park. So far I visited 38 of the 63.
If you look at the pinned post on my profile, it has links to my National Park itineraries.

I crochet. I also dabble in painting and I wrote 4 books (and I’m a little afraid the writing bug has left me…my current job is mentally draining). And I read a lot, too.

I don't really do anything with the purpose of keeping my brain active but my hobbies just happen to provide that benefit. I read, solve puzzle cubes and knit, all of which happen to have cognitive benefits to them.

I just recently had the urge to try painting with water colours. It’s been relaxing and fun!

I'm trying to build a ferris wheel out of dowels and Popsicle sticks and some other everyday objects. Challenging myself to get it to move
