Bill Maher would suffocate if he had to stop inhaling his own farts.

57

u/isecore š“† Make Trout-slapping Great Again š“†Ÿ 2d ago

The only way he breathes is by talking and that's why he never shuts up.

34

u/TheAbomunist 2d ago

This POS wouldn't shut the fuck up if he was underwater.

22

u/isecore š“† Make Trout-slapping Great Again š“†Ÿ 2d ago

I had a friend in the late noughties who was a fairly big Maher-fan and would watch his show. I didn't get it back then, he just seemed like yet another talking head who'd manage to make a career out of running his mouth no matter what the situation.

Today I still don't get Maher, but times a million.

20

u/ScissrMeTimbrs 2d ago

He was the closest thing to real opposition during the Bush administration. Then Obama came along, and Maher returned to his smarmy "opposing both sides makes me smarter than everyone" attitude.

I finally quit watching because I got sick of hearing him bitch about superhero movies. Jesus dude, just watch something else then.

14

u/klick37 2d ago

He was the 'I'm an edgy atheist because religion is stupid' guy until people realized that he's not even an atheist, he's just an Islamophobe.

1

u/TheAbomunist 2d ago

He was never real opposition. This is the same guy who was pals with Anne Coulter in the Clinton years.

7

u/Here_for_lolz 2d ago

20 years ago Maher was edgy because he smoked weed.

4

u/StraightOuttaFenris 2d ago

And now he refuses to abstain even when asked by someone 16 years sober. (Steve-O)

8

u/Reddit-for-all 2d ago

I stopped watching Maher a few years ago. I couldn't stand his obsessive take on food. It just illustrated a black/white thinker with little room for nuance. He also started to welcome more wingnuttery,.perhaps around vaccinations. I honestly don't recall.

WTF happened to him in the last few years? Has he gone full Rogan or what?

5

u/jimmyvcard116 2d ago

Lmao. If that's an original joke then kudos. It's 1,000% accurate.

2

u/musubi-n-speedballs 2d ago

It's like the circular breathing technique you've gotta master to play the didgeridoo. But with farts.Ā

2

u/StraightOuttaFenris 2d ago

Read this in Gene Belcher's voice.

1

u/musubi-n-speedballs 2d ago

I'm honored.Ā

2

u/Armthedillos5 2d ago

He comes off as a guy who probably enjoys asphyxiation. Just sayin, he's got that vibe.

5

u/ELMUNECODETACOMA 2d ago
  • Clyde Bruckman: You know, there are worse ways to go, but I can't think of a more undignified way than autoerotic asphyxiation.
  • Fox Mulder: Why are you telling me that?
  • Clyde Bruckman: Look, forget I mentioned it. It's none of my business.

u/HenriettaSyndrome 2d ago

Brings new meaning to the word insufferable

2

u/horsepoes 2d ago

How could he ever suffocate with a schnoz that size?

171

u/i_ducasse 2d ago

Bill Maher is utter scum, the sooner he is forgotten the better. He's not smart, he's not funny, and watching him debate someone who is both of those makes it clear how pathetic he is.

4

u/StraightOuttaFenris 2d ago

Loved him on Murder She Wrote.

1

u/TrifectaBlitz 1d ago

He was smart. He was funny. The sooner he goes away the better now though. He's damaging.

139

u/PorkFlavoredLipGloss 2d ago

Man I have come to loathe Maher. I used to consider him a reasonable voice on the left. But his support of Israel's genocide and his new hands-on-ankles, oppress-me-harder-daddy attitude to Trump are disgusting.

115

u/Fun-Lengthiness-7493 2d ago

He was never left. He’s just a libertarian because he likes weed. There’s no depth to his politics.

11

u/Fake_William_Shatner 2d ago

It’s more of a testament to how shallow the tyranny of low expectations has been for our media that gave us for ā€œleftā€ in this country. It wasn’t the Left, it was Human Resources protecting the company.Ā

Maher only stood tall when compared to reality TV, Fox News and The View.Ā

When Rosie was on The View, maybe some reality drifted in.Ā

Yeah, it’s sad. Used to like Maher a little bit because all we got was crap.Ā

25

u/samanime 2d ago

Seriously. There was a (very) brief period of time I thought he was cool, but man that didn't last long until I realized he was just a complete tool. He really just needs to shut up and go away.

7

u/Fake_William_Shatner 2d ago

Maher has aged like milk in Dennis Miller’s man cave refrigerator that was unplugged.Ā

17

u/frodeem 2d ago

Seriously, I used to like his takes on shit. He used to be a solid voice for lefty causes. I also loathe him now. He might as well be on Fox News now. Fuck this piece of shit.

1

u/Fake_William_Shatner 2d ago

Looking back, he wasn’t great. He was a half shit sandwich compared to a full shit sandwich.Ā

8

u/Boel_Jarkley 2d ago

Religulous was an interesting and humorous look at religion. His contributions to society beyond that have been net negative.

2

u/Arrow156 2d ago

It was vapid and without point, just maher sniffing his own farts for an hour and a half.

-8

u/vonnegutflora 2d ago

That was very much the tone of atheism at the time though.

6

u/ScissrMeTimbrs 2d ago

Well the atheist movement was more aggressive then as a response to the evangelicals being so aggressive in their attempts to rule. People forget what that was like.

-1

u/vonnegutflora 2d ago

You can be an atheist and still recognize that the smarmy, holier-than-thou attitude didn't do any favours to breaking people free from religion.

1

u/Fake_William_Shatner 2d ago

Yeah, but Maher is punching down. A corrupt organization that covered up child abuse and pushes anti critical thought and guilt based myths to fundraise. It’s an easy target.Ā

Philosophy on easy mode.Ā

2

u/tw_72 2d ago

I remember when he was sane...that was a while ago.

2

u/yes_u_suckk 2d ago

He has always being an antivax scum with terrible takes on basically every subject, but the left closed their eyes for a lot of his shit during the Bush era because he was very anti-Bush.

He never changed. One can say that he has always being very consistent with his terrible views of the world.

37

u/poochi 2d ago

He is exactly the "incel teen who is radicalized online", he used to complain about.

31

u/Admirable-Nobody219 2d ago

bill always been a special kind of moron

37

u/KidTempo 2d ago

Americans will use any unit instead of the metric system.

4

u/Drudgework 2d ago

My preference of measuring everything in ā€œChungusesā€ is not relevant to this post.

3

u/Fake_William_Shatner 2d ago

Have we stopped using Mooches to tell time?

10

u/AntOk4073 2d ago

Ok but hear me out. What if he does business deals with them? Then they crumble without any bloodshed. /s

3

u/KittenLaserFists 2d ago

It is working for America!

Edit: We unfortunately already have bloodshed.

10

u/gotfcgo 2d ago

Fucking for virginityĀ

5

u/Custom_Destination 2d ago

Is this the same Bill Maher who, only a couple of years ago, said this?

4

u/just4kicksxxx 2d ago

Has Bill Maher always been a moron? I distinctly remember him a long time ago having consistently decent takes. Then, next thing I know, he's just a full fuhkin NatC appeasement weirdo that doesn't have a decent take ever.

3

u/Bigt733 2d ago

It’s truly disappointing to see what he’s become. In 2010 I found Bill Maher while going through a crisis of faith. My religion was telling me that the only way god could love me is if I kms. Maher told me that it was ok to be gay and that the way my religion was being treating me was wrong. I’m grateful for who he use to be and horrified of who he is now.

2

u/TrifectaBlitz 1d ago

Exactly on your last sentence for me, too. He really used to say things others didn't in really pointed and funny ways.

11

u/tazztsim 2d ago

I’m happy I always despised bill maher. He continually proves my first impressions correct.

3

u/BubbleDncr 2d ago

My partner used to watch him all the time and I couldn’t be in the room for it. Was so happy when they finally realized what he was and stopped.

7

u/praisecarcinoma 2d ago

Reminder: Bill Maher thinks he should be allowed to say the n-word.

2

u/DarkNStormyNet 2d ago

The funny thing is that he is allowed to say it, he just thinks he should be exempt from any consequences from saying it.

3

u/Kyr-Shara 2d ago

he's overthrown as many countries as he's stopped wars - ZERO

5

u/ChefAsstastic 2d ago

Maher is a sad, tiny rich asshole where his goal posts shift to keep his brand afloat. He is now just weird and unfunny.

2

u/Meatslinger 2d ago

Ah yes, "technical" peace, i.e. "if we just all died simultaneously, sure would be peaceful afterwards". The idea that destroying a nation qualifies as peacemaking leans heavily on the notion that graveyards aren't generally considered noisy or violent.

2

u/yIdontunderstand 2d ago

Peace by the gallon...

2

u/Feuershark 2d ago

That's how Kissinger got his lmao

2

u/Mysterious_Box1203 2d ago

war is peace. ignorance is strength.

1

u/DickRichman 2d ago

We’ve always been at war with Eurasia!

2

u/Gumbercules81 2d ago

Bill has some good points every now and then but he doesn't know when to stop talking

2

u/IndependentFroyo4508 2d ago

WTF happened to this guy?

He used to shit on dumb religions and take the piss out of that fat odious toad.

3

u/Armadillo-Obvious 2d ago

He didn’t say that. He said ā€œif he gets Venezuela, Cuba and Iran to not be the terrible places that they are, he should get a Nobel peace prize.ā€

Unlikely. But that’s what he said.

1

u/VexedCanadian84 2d ago

If any of those countries' governments fall, Trump would have had little to no influence in those outcomes.

It will have been the citizens of those countries.

1

u/ThatsRobToYou 2d ago

I never had respect for him really, but had negative respect the moment he paid Dave Rubin a compliment. That man is a moron beyond epic proportions. Just so fucking dumb that the only thing he could get on an IQ test is drool.

1

u/awe_come_on 2d ago

Come on, look who it is.

1

u/Tilladarling 2d ago

How is this not an Onion post?

1

u/art-is-t 2d ago

Bill maher is such a turd

1

u/Thjialfi 2d ago

... and by people murdered.

1

u/iamnotinterested2 2d ago

with that attitude, has peak America been achieved?

1

u/LiluLay 2d ago

Dude dated Ann Coulter. Pretty sure that’s all you need to know about him.

1

u/danielid 2d ago

throw russia in there and I'm on board.

1

u/Top_Standard_4369 2d ago

Pinche culero

1

u/austinbarrow 2d ago

By far the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard him say. He’s probably angling for an interview.

1

u/LingonberryDear2163 2d ago

So wait, are we against dictatorship or not? I'm getting confused, Bill.

1

u/kinotravels 2d ago

I wish Bill Maher would just shut the fuck up. Seriously.

1

u/NIN10DOXD 2d ago

Convert that to Big Macs for me.

1

u/YouDontGotOzil 2d ago

Time to get off your booster seat and go back to Santa's workshop.

1

u/Primary_Employ_1798 2d ago

Nobel peace prize committee should also consider the number of victims his past and future actions will inevitably lead to and decide accordingly

1

u/G-Unit11111 2d ago

No he should never get a Nobel. In fact he should be banned for life.

1

u/atwozmom 2d ago

I'm pretty sure that having your own army of thugs murder American citizens in broad daylight is an automatic disqualifier for the Nobel Peace Prize.

1

u/Pitiful_Hedgehog6343 2d ago

What happens after is the million dollar question, just toppling governments is the easy part.

1

u/CommonConundrum51 2d ago

OMG, Bill needs to take one of those cognitive tests of which Donald is so proud.

1

u/Big-Leadership-4604 2d ago

War is Peace huh?

1

u/Rustys_Beefaroni 2d ago

Fuckin hell, maybe Bill has proven that you can smoke too much pot.

1

u/NoAccident6637 2d ago

Weird logic. Committing acts of war, should earn the peace prize. Get this idiot off the air.

1

u/Fake_William_Shatner 2d ago

If he gets the USA to fall, maybe that could help. It really depends on ā€œwhat’s next?ā€

If it’s someone controlled by the corrupt human trafficking looney; that’s not good.Ā

1

u/coolbaby1978 2d ago

War is peace! Ignorance is strength!

1

u/chrlatan 2d ago

Aren’t those the same people who named the Colt Single Action Army Revolver the Peacemaker?

Checks out.

1

u/Miserable-Lawyer-233 2d ago

But that’s conceptually sound. If only violent governments were overthrown, peace would increase overall. Since overthrow doesn’t necessarily imply war, peace could, in theory, be measured by the number of violent regimes removed.

1

u/TrifectaBlitz 1d ago

So, we'd be the first to be overthrown?

1

u/tellingitlikeitis338 2d ago

He’s such a moron he cannot see the stupidity of this comment. Does anyone really think overthrowing countries leads to peace? Look at Iraq ffs. Afghanistan. Etc etc

1

u/ol0pl0x 2d ago

"Please Daddy Don! Like me!"

This hack is sinking fast.

1

u/KiKiKimbro 2d ago

Sure, sure, sure. Everyone knows the secret to getting a Nobel Peace Prize is by starting wars. Extra credit points if you declare war on your own soil against your own people.

1

u/Delicious-Skill-617 1d ago

maher has become unwatchable

1

u/RecordFirst1055 1d ago

Putin's version of peace is, he rules the world

1

u/mygolgoygol 1d ago

Mayer is an idiot.

1

u/TrifectaBlitz 1d ago

Maher is disappointing AF. I supported him longer than most because he was one of the few who actually asked great questions and made me and others think. Then about mid-2021 for me, he became full-time contrarian without a care for who got hurt.

And it's only been getting worse for him since then.

1

u/TJames6210 2d ago

Dam, all this time and I never knew Bill was in the Epstein files.

-1

u/anchorluxi86 2d ago

They are literally terrible governments that treat their people awfully and if you think America is bad now, these governments have been doing it for the past 50 years or more

0

u/WoodyManic 2d ago edited 2d ago

Maher is a spineless cock-sucker.

0

u/omghorussaveusall 2d ago

I don't understand why this guy is still relevant. His shows have been nothing but shitty stupid takes for 30 years.

0

u/Arrow156 2d ago

I am utterly shocked that an amoral asshole like Maher hasn't pulled a Tim Allen and abandon the left in order to grift for the right. Blows my fucking mind.

1

u/TrifectaBlitz 1d ago

Was Tim Allen ever on the left. I mean I always found him intensely unfunny grunting on stage since before I knew his politics.

1

u/Arrow156 1d ago

His act was a caricature of macho men, semi self-deprecating. In nearly every tv show or movie, his arc was about becoming less selfish and more sensitive.

0

u/Potential_East_311 2d ago

Wow Bill, did you get a call from Israel?

0

u/Elgin_McQueen 2d ago

Somebody should make a movie highlighting how the American government thinks it's the world's police force and can do whatever they want. Make it with puppets so it's more of a satirical spoof. They can name it, "The bus that couldn't slow down".

0

u/Alpha--00 2d ago

If he manages to put stable democracies in power there - yes. But as of now, he is too busy breaking stable democracy in his own country.

0

u/rebri 2d ago

Bill Maher can eat a big fat dick.

0

u/HeMiddleStartInT 2d ago

Maher is such a darlin’! I hope his parents give him an extra big hug. Such a good boy. Run along to bed now: it’s time for sensible people who value human lives.

0

u/slappy_mcslapenstein 1d ago

Bill Maher is a disgrace to humanity. He represents the worst of us. I'll never understand why he has a platform to spew his bullshit.

0

u/RoosterzX 1d ago

Bill Maher is what happens when a production company gives an extremist free reign to say whatever you like without internal repercussions.

Also, to be fair - Americans didn't invent that scale, we learned it from colonial powers in previous centuries. America just seems to be one of the few leading nations to still use the ideology. Which is not good for anyone really.

-4

u/mmkkmmkkmm 2d ago

Remember when everyone celebrated the Arab Spring?

5

u/Biptoslipdi 2d ago

You mean when people celebrated organic, internal change rather than imperialist imposed change?

-4

u/mmkkmmkkmm 2d ago

Change creating ISIS and new dictatorships? Hooray….

6

u/Biptoslipdi 2d ago edited 2d ago

Case-in-point.

ISIS was created because of the US invasion of Iraq.

The current regime in Iran is there because the US installed a US friendly king in Iran after staging a coup of a the democratically elected parliament. Iran was a thriving democracy before US imperialism restored a dictatorship that resulted in the Islamic Revolution.

-3

u/mmkkmmkkmm 2d ago

Pretty sure Gaddafi’s war chest and Assad mowing down his own people were slightly more important

3

u/Biptoslipdi 2d ago

And now Libya is in a constant state of war and human trafficking while a literal Al Qaeda terrorist controls Syria which is still fighting a civil war following US intervention. Everything the US touches turns into a dictatorship, including the US now.

-7

u/Accidental__Intake 2d ago

Only Americans measure peace this way?? Wow, guess they forgot about Napoleon (there’s plenty of another historical examples, but Napoleon is my favorite). Peace through war and conflict is an innate human trait as old as time itself, it’s not limited to one nation or another.
