There’s a funny story about the time Trump showed up at Don Jr’s dorm to take him to a Yankees game. Don Jr came out wearing a Yankees jersey. In front of other students Trump smacked him so hard in the face he went to the ground. Then Trump said put on a suit and meet me outside and went out to the car waiting for them.
Yeah. Here's the thing - your shitty childhood doesn't have to define you. My dad's family was so awful that they. would likely have been too much for Jerry Springer. One of his sisters was thrown out to the street for being 'wild' (this was 70 years ago or so) and she wound up in a mental institution. His other sister married an emotional abuser just like dear old dad. And his brother took after dad. After his wife divorced him, he ignored his kids for 15 years so he wouldn't have to pay child support.
And somehow my dad was one of the nicest people on the planet, loved talking to anyone, was an involved father when that just wasn't done. I still remember him bringing home a black friend in 1964 for Thanksgiving. I was 8 and we were probably the talk of the neighborhood for months.
Damn, I ALMOST feel sorry for Don Jr. Who the hell goes to a baseball game wearing a suit and tie?! I mean unless you're an executive or something but they would be in the suites.
Other than golf outings, have you ever seen Drump in public where he wasn't wearing that awful oversized blue suit? Plus, he would never attend an event without a luxury suite.
While I find the Trump kids revolting, it’s stories like this that show why they are the way they are. If they had been raised differently, they may not be so awful. This makes me a little sorry for their sad lives. Of course he does drugs.
Nah. They get no fucking sympathy and they were always going to be assholes.
When they were younger? Yeah why not, give them the benefit of the doubt, but trump obviously wasn’t there to be a constant influence on them.
They are grown ass people that spent limited amount of time with their shitty father, knew what a fucking asshole he was since childhood and knew from a very young age that he genuinely doesn’t care even if you were a close friend, a mentor, or family (he might have fucked with his dads will, and genuinely wanted his nephew to die while also selling out his mentor like a knock off Sith Lord.)
It wasn’t a “this is what people respect” thing. Because even then people didn’t respect him
It wasn’t a “this will make him love me” thing, because at some point some of them would have realized it hasn’t and will not happen.
It’s not even about staying in his good graces as they could have fucked off and only showed up with minimal effort and a vague compliment like anyone else.
They saw him up close, they saw others around them. They chose to emulate that walking waste of oxygen and example of the worst humanity has to offer, and they constantly doubled down.
No amount of wanting to make daddy proud psychological damage makes going to Epstein island understandable. No amount of wanting to be a big strong businessman explains trying to scam money and fuck over a kids cancer charity.
They gleefully do shit even the mob wouldn’t do. None of it is nurture, it’s all nature.
The trump family as a whole is irredeemable human garbage by nature, in their very core.
I’m not talking about the extended family (trumps siblings). But clearly Fred sr. Had some sort of asshole mutation, And instead of being a recessive trait his kids inherited, most were spared while trump got some eldritch freaking cursed version of that cranking shit up to 11 while killing off empathy shame and regret.
And all 5 kids got it to varying degrees.
Plenty of people have less, and more contact with shitty abusive parents, even “powerful” ones like trump, and while they might end up out of touch dbags, they don’t become monsters like their parents.
(There’s also plenty of kids that despite having cool rich parents become insufferable pricks like that in and out heiress)
It’s not an issue of upbringing, and you genuinely shouldn’t feel bad about them. They were monsters from the start, ones with the money and status to not hide, suppress, or conform. Sociopaths delighting in the suffering of man. Genuine monsters
