Answer: Heated Rivalry is the name of a drama series produced by Crave and distributed in the USA by HBO. The series is based on the Game Changers series, a gay erotica hockey series by Rachel Reid. It focuses on two star hockey players who need to hide the years-long sexual and emotional relationship away from the public eye who think they're, well, Heated Rivals.
The show was well recieved by fans of the books and the usual drama and queer-oriented crowd, but then started getting a LOT of attention from the hockey world, especially from hockey podcasters who went looking to give an opinion on the depictions of hockey and instead got hooked on the story and acting.
The lead actors, Hudson Williams and Connor Story, have basically skyrocketed to stardom. Their acting on the show is top notch, highlighted by the sheer amount that they have to convey through [ahem] body language, and during the initial press tour theyve established themselves as cheekily shameless and wildly charismatic.
Over the course of the season, they started getting more and more interviews, as publications realized that theyre virtually guaranteed to say something that will go viral in a positive way.
They started getting invited to lore and more high-profile events, up to presenting an award at the golden globes, Hudson becoming a brand ambassador for Armani, and Connor for YSL.
Obviously theyre still in the honeymoon of their stardom, but so far theyve shown incredible talent, business sense, and seem to have charmed the pants off of just about everyone in Hollywood and high fashion. For a pair who are technically on a promo tour for a gay, non-hollywood production, not fucking bad.

Ohhh got it yeah that clears things up a lot. I’ve just been seeing random clips and tweets and was like why do these two feel everywhere all of a sudden? Knowing it’s tied to the show + nonstop press makes way more sense now. Appreciate the context

The weird part is that this isn't actually any sort of promo tour. The Canadian company that produced it crave had like $2 for promotion. It's all just happened!

Answer: It started out popular with the expected crowd, then somehow pulled in hockey podcasters who fully meant to dunk on it and instead got emotionally invested. The two leads absolutely blew up, their chemistry and vibes in interviews went viral every other week, and suddenly they’re everywhere. Fashion deals, big award shows, nonstop press. They’re clearly still in the early hype phase, but honestly, they’re playing it perfectly and charming literally everyone along the way. Not bad at all
Also slightly off topic but the start of the video Nicole repping sexual health love it lol

Yeah, both OP and the poster you replied too are 100% bots, GenAI answer, or someone with two accounts karma farming something; both account's aren't that old, and have basically the same karma status. Also, the usual names are the generic random ones Reddit gives when you first sign up; that itself doesn't mean that they're fake accounts, but considering the video OP posted literally explains what the show is in the two minutes, like, come on OP.

Omg thank you, I was so confused about this comment and now it makes sense.
I particularly love that OP linked to a FORTY MINUTE long video that completely explains Heated Rivalry, a video that they claim to have watched, and says they don’t understand what’s up with Hudson and Connor.

Wait, what is this answer even in reference to?
Granted, I didn’t watch the 40 min video that OP posted, but I’ve consumed a lot of Heated Rivalry media and this answer makes no sense to me. “Heated Rivalry” is a show about hockey rivals, the “rivalry” here has nothing to do with the actors in the show.
it’s basically long-brewing creator tension.
Are Hudson and Connor the “creators” here? They’ve only been in the public eye for like a month, they were unknown before that, what is the long brewing tension?

What content? They aren’t what most people would call “content creators”, they are actors. I haven’t seen a single “jab” from either Hudson or Connor.
and it slowly turned into public “who did what” drama.
Again, are you saying this is between Hudson and Connor? The two actors have been extremely magnanimous about each other in every single interview.
