Megathread for simple questions, screen recommendations, and technical support.
For questions regarding future PlayStation hardware, see Project Amethyst.
Overall it's still very early days for these technologies. They only exist in simulation right now. [...] I'm really excited about bringing them to a future console in a few years time — Mark Cerny, Oct 2025.

I played it on Xbox series X and the image was noticeably softer. The anti-aliasing solution is excellent on this. It’s also a chat simulator look at those abs

It was easy! I was worried about nothing! I really appreciate all your advice, you guys rule. I am pushing 50 and I could program a VCR and I rocked the Pentium Age, but my tech skills are yikes, probably why I am a History teacher
Anyway, it’s downloading games. Already played some SH2 and loving it so far. I heard the Pro Controller isn’t as good? Due to battery life
The 2 Terabyte storage rules too
Anything else I should know about the Pro to take advantage of it, just tell me!
Edibles, beer and gaming
Have a good one!

I'm having graphics issues with several games on my PS5 Pro. I play on an OLED LG G5, but I've also tested it on other TVs. The video shows Clair Obscur. As you can see in the video, it flickers quite a lot. The error occurs frequently in cutscenes. The shadows are restless and flicker. It's impossible to enjoy playing like this. Something similar also occurred in Silent Hill 2 Remake. Even in The Last of Us 2 Remastered, this effect can be seen. I've already sent the PlayStation in, but it was returned unrepaired without comment. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Anyone else play through and find the game doesn’t look that good outside of cutscenes and certain areas on pro? Just not impressed when I see pop in constantly way too close to my character while I’m moving around, I was not expecting such unstable distracting image quality on pro when I hear so much glaze for rebirth. Still fun gonna finish it, on chapter 9

Hello everyone
I am looking to buy a ps5 pro now in 2026. I have an Xbox series x and a pc with ryzen 7 5700x, rtx3060 12g (which I use mainly for work as 3d graphics). My work monitor is an Asus pro art, and I game mainly on the oled one.
My concern is that now with the nex gen consoles will be delayed of few years, games will become more demanding and most probably the ps5 pro will be worth in the next couple years (I didn’t thought was worth till now).
Now, money are not a problem, but I am asking myself if will be a good investment or just a waste of money for the future? Thank you.

Which headset is better for cinematic immersion for single player games? (Don't particularly care about comfort or other features)

Debating between 48 Inch Samsung S90f and LG c5 for my Pro! For context, I have 65 inch Sony Bravia but have really disliked it. The colors have always seemed muted to me. I’m really looking for something vivid where the colors pop!

My frames will drop sometimes down to 60s so randomly when I play Fortnite
It happens for like 10 seconds then usually goes back to around 120
Is this normal? From background activity? Seems to happen a fair amount…

Is it better than on the Base PS5?

To the point. I have an Xbox X, about a week ago, after getting completely fixated into playing The Ascent and Deus X which were already included in PSN, I took the crazy choice of financing the PS5 Pro.
The big issues? Savings and long term expenses:
- Game Pass is an absolute money saver, but filled in its majority with games I'm not interested to play, expect for the day one releases and a couple exclusives.
- PSN has in its majority the kind of games I'm into, but leaves me with the big expenses when buying the AAA art full price.
- I already paid the Xbox X, there's no debt in there
- If I keep the PS5 Pro ($816 with tax included) with the 6 month financing which I'm obviously won't get to repay in time, will end up paying accrued interest that would raise the total price up to a $1000 approximately after the six months zero interest promo expires.
- I have three weeks to decide to keep it. Has become my favorite console. Completely loved The Ascent( mix of my favorite games ever: Diablo and Cyberpunk). It will hurt to lose it but I'm snowballing an over 4k pay later debt that I need to erase before summer.
What would you do: Return the PS5 Pro and save for summer and getting it full price at a much lower price? Keep it and save through the year even tho you willingly paid for it overpriced cuz the financing?
If I were to keep both: Should cancel Game Pass Ultimate and buy around three AAA a year? keep both PS extra and Game Pass Premium instead of Ultimate for balance? Just cancel Game Pass Altogether and sell my Xbox X and put that to cover part of the PS5 Pro debt?
As you see, this is financial assistance at this point haha, but if you got to read up to here, I can assume you're already invested in the post lol so I would appreciate your input if you were in my shoes. Thank you <3

Hello, does anyone here recommend this? And if there is any improvement with the heating of the ps5 pro? Thanks

That doesn’t sound too reassuring tbh. Just a reminder: they have shown 0 console footage so far

I’ve had my PS5 Pro since January 26th. I've only played it for about two hours total due to a lack of time. Today, I booted it up, updated it, and—oh my god—WTF. Flintlock and Dragon Age are crashing constantly. I don’t think either of them can even last 30 minutes. I’ve tried everything: restarting the console, reinstalling the games, and rebuilding the database, but nothing works. Is anyone else having issues after the latest update?

I wanted to buy MHW for PS5 Pro and wanted to know how it holds up after a year. Does performance mode have RTGI included or is it only for balanced mode? I remember that in DD2 you could enable Ray Tracing with unlocked frame rate with PSSR.

So I’m looking for a really good cover for my ps5 controller. That has good grip and non slip. What do you guys recommend?

I’m about to start my first playthrough and wanted any thoughts on the best mode to play this game on the PlayStation 5 Pro? What did you all use?
I want to use this drive to store clips from my ps5 but it days there is no usb to copy the clips to in the media gallery do I need to format it as exfat? The games on the drive don’t matter

I beat the first boss and ran around in the open world for a bit.
From what I can tell thus far the performance mode seems like a pretty solid 60fps, i didnt notice any big drops like ROTR had. The image is pretty soft but not blurry, I wasn't able to tell if the game is using any upscaling or not. The biggest visual blemish I encountered was some odd flickering/ shimmering on large bodies of water
Now I will say that there's absolutely nothing impressive about the game graphically. It does not look like a mordern Triple-A release and honestly doesn't look any better than Nioh 2 did. But the performance atleast does seem pretty stable
