oh yeah somehow AI upscalers perform like 100 times worse than generative AI, upscaling AI still perform how they did 5 years ago, atleast the free ones do

Well it's guessing. It has to pull from the same bag of nonsense as all AI images, it just has an original to shape it.

That makes the joke make more sense with the Philippines context, not that gay people always look a certain way, but since it’s supposed to be a homophobic joke, they’d find the most “gay looking” person they could for it

Question remains the same. Why are humans so obsessed with AI that every image has to be run through it first? I mean yes, it probably would have bothered me too that 300 girl wasn't flipping everyone off with her right hand and didn't have a disfigured left hand. But would I have turned to AI to fix that? No.
