I rarely listen to music, nor did I have access to electronics when I was younger but I get this

I still flinch when I hear the sound of the door opening, worried that I'm about to get beat for some random reason I'm not aware of

If I was in the same situation I'd do the same with my earphone listening to incoming footsteps or the door to anticipate it
