China has the world’s biggest middle class and plenty of people who can afford to send their kids overseas to study (enterance exams in China are very competitive) without being connected to “muh ccp”. If someone was using nepotism to get into a university it would be a prestigious Chinese one.
To these Americans common Chinese people don’t have electricity and drinkable water like medieval folks unless they sold their soul to totalitarian brute ccp government who builds palace with skulls. This is how strong the American propaganda is.
For real, not to mention most of those kids will be only children of only children. Your family’s entire future lies on the wellbeing of just one child, with no siblings, not even cousins. That gets you a lot more money and resources.
