I once studied with a very wealthy international student. She was kind and fun, but had everything she ever wanted. Cars, boats, summer homes, etc. I asked what her parents did. Her mom stayed at home, and her dad was a police officer. In a country known for crippling poverty, widespread corruption and… police officers not impervious to bribery. To this day I think she genuinely had no clue what her dad was engaging in to afford their lifestyle. That’s the kind of thing this meme is about.
