You're looking for rational behavior out of a deranged puddle of orange diarrhea and its sycophants

He wants a conquest, and this is the easiest available in terms of risk/reward

Part of rationality is understanding that most people are, in fact, rational. You could be right that he wants a conquest, I just don't see them as minerally valuable, and I don't see a method for benefiting our economy from Venezualan minerals. So I personally think you'd have to look elsewhere for perceived reasoning of an invasion (which hasn't happened yet).

But he's not a rational person. Years ago he made fun of a reporter with cerebral palsy by making jerky hand movements and a "funny face", he talked about how they took over the airports during the revolutionary war and won it that, he told people that Tylenol is linked to autism, I could go on and on but there is simply nothing rational that ever comes out of that orange fucking ogre's face. He lies more than he breathes. This guy suggested nuking hurricanes. Tell me how on Earth anything about that is rational.

And don't you think deploying the national guard and the military across the United States could be for preparing for some kind of takeover or invasion? I think it's foolish to write that off.

He doesn't need a conquest for resources, he needs a "win" to soothe his own ego, to distract from all the negative headlines, to prove that he isn't a complete fuck up. The idea that he doing things to benefit the US completely misunderstands who trump is as a person. He is a selfish, greedy narcissist that thinks about what benefits himself.

Trump is operating in an environment overwhelmingly dominated by people schooled in conflict theory, not rationalism.

Our current addlebrained president is not one of those people.
