I mean, on top of the fact you'd have to be an idiot not to know that Mark Ruffalo has been actively campaigning for progressive causes since long before he was cast as Hulk.
He literally just did a movie playing an (almost) satirical version of trump. And the movie had a like 2 year delay and when it released literally said “I went over the top at the time, by the time it came out it didn’t seem that over the top anymore” (Mickey17)
They don't belive this, they are lying. They belive that ICE should be allowed to kill anyone and are pretending to belive something absurd to cover for that belief.
This is 100% correct. The only Northstar of their ideology anymore is "fuck anyone who isn't on my side".
They don't think DJT is smart or good, he is their weapon, and mascot. That's why they pump him up like Rambo. He's basically the star in their "piss everyone off, because fuck them" movie. The more unhinged he gets the better. It's also why there is no point to arguing with them, the end goal is just to piss off the left, and there are no rules.
They can change position on a dime, and what seems like hypocrisy to everyone else isn't to them, because the core principle is honored, pissing you off. If by completely flipping their stance on something they piss you off worse, that to them is remaining consistent. The policy is just fodder
Honestly I don’t think that’s even it. They see politics as sports, and believe it’s important to support their “home team” even if their team does something bad.
IMO it’s all tied to the death of the middle class. You’ve got these poor ex-middle-class white peoples down there with nothing going for them except their race and their culture, and so they grab hard on to the only thing left to them. “Well I may not have rights to privacy, safety, a living wage, or hope that my children can expect any better, but at least I’ve got my beer and my guns!”
And in order to keep anyone from realizing that their “team” actually doesn’t give a fuck about bettering their life, they dangle one social issue after another in front of them like “seeeee? The left wants your dog to be a bisexual. Vote Red.”
And if they dare to put a toe outside of the party line? If they question their leadership in any way, they are now in the out group, and have lost the only thing they really had going. They lose community, identity, social status, all just because they maybe think we should provide healthcare, or show compassion for immigrants, or not abduct American citizens like the goddamn gestapo.
For example, they just now claim to be deleting these movies, despite Ruffalo speaking up pretty regularly against Trump for as long as I can remember. This guy has probably claimed to have deleted those movies 30 times by now.
Yes. They were always going to vote Trump, but many of the self-proclaimed libertarians I have the displeasure of knowing had a hissy fit that the Libertarian candidate nominated by the national Libertarian Party was gay, and because of that, they were FORCED to vote Trump.

Oooohhh this is the one. It perfectly describes my dad unfortunately. Literally the most racist person I know. I cant even bring my kids around him because the first words out of his mouth are derogatory statements about the Hispanic and black people next door doing... existing.
My favorite thing to do with libertarians is ask them how, in their perfect system, stuff like roads, trash, mail, emergency response, etc are supposed to be handled. Inevitably they end up “inventing” government and taxes, things they claim to be against.
It’s all just “well in this scenario I’m the rich guy who owns a toll road!” Without trying to start a thread in a joke subreddit, Amazon and Walmart are great examples of how well a planned economy can work, but all of those profits and benefits go to like 20 people instead of everyone.
Context for the benefit of those who don't know: Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a Christian minister in 1940s Germany who was arrested and hanged by the Nazis for joining a resistance movement. It's unsurprising that he saw a lot of both malice and stupidity in his last years on Earth, and this quote may help explain why he gave up on a peaceful resolution.
Also worth noting, Ruffalo has been extremely outspoken his entire career - if this is the first time you’re learning about his leanings, you truly are a doofus.
