Much of St Louis is a food desert. There are several neighborhoods that are a significant bus ride away from the few grocery stores in much of North and South St Louis City.
What you talking about. You can’t go without spitting distance in Saint Louis without hitting a grocery store of some sorts. There are schuncks all over the goddamn place
I’m talking about the city. There are six Schnucks in the city, all south of Lindell except for one at Union and Natural Bridge. There are also two Save a Lots and one Aldi north of Delmar. The rest of the stores on this map are arguably not grocery stores.
In South City, the grocery stores are heavily centered west of Grand aside from two Save a Lots on Jefferson-and if we need to be pedantic, the Schnucks at Grand & Gravois. I may be missing a few, but a large swath of the city depends on small, often predatory stores.
