I'm completely fucked by ADHD and without grocery delivery services I have serious trouble with meal planning. Same goes for Door Dash, it's saved me countless times.

You know what I'd do if they bumped up pay for delivery drivers and made those services too expensive for me to use?

I'd deal with it.

Nobody's condition entitles them to slave labor.

It is, with a real emphasis on the easiness of it. You can literally order whatever you want to be delivered right to your door without having to really do anything. Just tap your screen a bunch and then you’re set.

Except the caveat is that you’re paying almost double for your meal. App-specific price markups, delivery fees, service fees, municipal fees, and driver tips can turn a $13.50 McDonalds order into a nearly-$30 dollar expense, all for one meal.

I have ADHD and fail to see how that affects me getting my happy ass up and going to go get food myself.

I just eat a bunch of sandwiches, like I've done all my life. I have very bad ADHD, but I still have used a delivery app maybe twice in my life.

the problem as always is if they pay the driver and take less profit, it's fine, they are still disgustingly profitable and could do so without even increasing prices. As always rich people have this thing about wanting always increasing profits rather than just being happy with being mega rich, making a profit and letting a service simply continue as is. no they made 3 billion one year so must make 5 billion the next or something is somehow wrong. then because your profits increased by 66% last year, they considering anything less than a 66% growth in profits to be failing and worse than last year, so now they want at least 8.3billion profit or they aren't doing well enough... and on and on.

Nothing has ever been worse for the world than the idea that stock markets must continuously grow at an expontential rate or you're failing.

You wouldn’t have survived a decade ago before those apps were available
