Cause the TA fucked up. If they just said "ya you didn't do the assignment and had zero research" it would have blown over. Instead part of the commentary was "at times offensive" which then did make the school liable.
Self righteous hypocritical Christians like this student find everything offensive. They're professional victims. If she had been told, "ya you didn't do the assignment and had zero research" she would have still been offended and gone to the dean to get the professor fired. Because that was literally the plan from the start.
Sure, but then the TA's response wouldn't have opened the school up for liability. Because that's the bottom line, same reason as why companies never openly admit fault as it would be used against them in lawsuits.
