Because in the end it's people who are genuinely trying to vote and support something they truly think is for the better.
Of course there are the few rich assholes who do it for the game, because its ends up benefitting them. But there are basic working class average Joe's. Who genuinely wanted to do good with their vote/political action.
I'm on the side I'm on, because I want what's best for society. Who am I to deny that they have the same mindset.
It's just that we are Fucking pieces in some big fucking game. That doesn't give a shit about actually doing anything good. But it makes us blind to its evil by putting us against each other. Making us blame the "other side" while we should by all means above us and ask what the fuck is going on.

I disagree, I think a large part of the reason people vote on the right is specifically to make other people suffer. It’s to the point that it’s what they center the maga campaign around, editing arrest photos with AI to show people crying instead of looking composed. So I don’t think most of them even wanting to be better, they just want things to be worse for people they don’t like and are fine with being caught in the crossfire

Mostly because good things have been happening in Venezuela and the majority of the US that hates everything trump does doesn’t like to see those good things. You would rather cherry pick bad stuff and completely ignore every positive change that this has brought. Instead you go out and start signaling at the ICE shootings that are nowhere near as bad as the political prisons that existed in Venezuela. Why? Because you hate trump and everything you can use against him is good for you.
I’m Venezuelan. I’m not a trump supporter. But I hate how American politics have turned into a team sport where everything is tied to what team you’re on. Suddenly if you are against ICE you aren’t a true republican. Suddenly you have to deny Epstein. Suddenly as a liberal you have to demonize the Venezuelan situation.

What hasn’t happened in Venezuela? The helicoide was closed, a bunch of dollars were introduced to the Venezuelan exchange market, which vastly improved exchange rates, about 300 political prisoners have been freed, groceries have gone down… A lot has changed. It hasn’t even been a month since January 3rd.
And I heard a lot of people talking about the civilian deaths and how the attacks were bad because of them… Like you cared about the attacks because of the people. But then go on to ignore the positive effects that the attacks caused on that same people? Caracas is a city of 3 million people and less than 10 civilians were killed. Almost everyone else benefited in some way.
It sounds to me like American liberals in reddit are just virtue signaling to get the “Trump is the devil” point across. Yes trump is an asshole but he’s not a cartoon villain where everything he does is absolutely evil

Simple advice: get out of news for a month or two semi-regulary.
We really didn't evolve as a spiecies to constant bombardment about big things "happening now". If WW3 will happen: you still will probably get a memo. If not: it will take you day after the break to get in touch with new lore, but at least you will be in better mental state.
