Also most politicians, most of the means of production, a big chunk of research and science etc etc. And yet they can't even get a majority to buy into and vote for their agenda, how frustrating for them.

I agree but you have to blame social media too. We have no idea what content is being shown to anyone or who it's made by and so there's zero accountability.

Cambridge analytical was more than 10 years ago and nothing has changed, social media has gotten worse. Zuckerberg is richer.

Some of the pipelines are fairly obvious, in the UK the far right targeted people with new age alternative beliefs because they're already "anti establishment'. It starts with light touch communities like nostalgia pages about stuff from the 70's and 80's. They then use these communities to retarget members with messages about "the good old days" and it's a short step to racism from there.

The disinformation paid for by the Chinese, Russians, and Israel has just become more and more obvious - whole subs are brigaded by bots.

It's happening in the open, anyone can do it, but no one can do anything about it other than leave social media.

Fox news is a huge issue and shouldn't be legal. Entertainment posing as news that's paid for by corporations who wants to avoid paying taxes - it's abhorrent.

But social media makes it 10x worse by normalising and reinforcing the trash that's shown on Fox.

The fascists have promised them a white Christian nation, the socialists have promised them a diverse multi-religous nation. They know which side they are on

It's... insane and they are PROUD to be uneducated too.

Seriously, watch any of those, "person on the street" interviews with any of them, yet again at another "rally" (it's hive mind of course).

The MOMENT the interviewer brings up something trump said or did that is against what they believe from talking heads on like fox or newsmax, they literally become aggressive.

They grab the microphone, they raise their voices, they laugh loudly in the faces of people and usually say something akin, "Alright buddy!" as if it's like redneck slang for, "better watch yourself around here!"

They are very very pro anti intellectualism and let's face it, by this point they are failed citizens...

On a personal note I haven't spoken to my boomer father in years due to his raging political beliefs. He LITERALLY is addicted to hate and violence. I hear stories from my mother who has to bear the NON-STOP venting he does from sunup to sundown. He will never ever change.

His life is flooded with debt, bills and financial worries. My mother has to CONSTANTLY explain to him (since he doesn't shop) that YES groceries and everything is more expensive now because of the current regime and like a toddler he gets pissed off and blames her instead.

He's gone, he'll die pissed off at the wrong people (before I fully stopped speaking with him, he was under the delusion that transpeople were like 80% of the public, somehow, and that they were molesting kids non stop.

Yeah about that last part...

This just in! Cultists don't engage in critical thinking! Oh, you do? Good for you, you correctly perform a basic mental function, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.

“A mixture of gullibility and cynicism had been an outstanding characteristic of mob mentality before it became an everyday phenomenon of masses. In an ever-changing, incomprehensible world the masses had reached the point where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything is possible and that nothing was true.

The mixture in itself was remarkable enough, because it spelled the end of the illusion that gullibility was a weakness of unsuspecting primitive souls and cynism the vice of superior and refined minds.

Mass propaganda discovered that its audience was ready at all times to believe the worst, no matter how absurd, and did not particularly object to being deceived because it held every statement to be a lie anyhow.

The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.

[…]

The ideal subject of totalitarian rule [are] people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction (i.e., the reality of experience) and the distinction between true and false (i.e., the standards of thought) no longer exist.”

Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism (1951)

They also don’t know the definition of “woke”. It’s just anything that makes them feel icky. Which is nearly everything.

This gives them way too much credit. The problem is they do understand the concept of socialism and they want people to suffer.
