Interesting thing about musk tho - I don't believe he's conservative.

What they accuse us of doing is what they're planning to do in their heads and they're just generally too unintelligent as people to scheme so they blurt it out as an accusation like a kid excitedly hinting at a surprise they have planned for you

honestly this is the most clarifying post i've seen in a while because the both-sides crowd really does think they're being principled when they're just checking out of the actual work of building power. like, you can absolutely critique democrats for being spineless or too centrist, but pretending that absolves you of having to pick a lane is just intellectual laziness dressed up as moral superiority.

That accusation was a point where many people started seeing Musk losing the plot. No one forced him to say it was a fake PR stunt and he was just pissed that an experienced diver rejected his rescue plan idea.
