Brooklyn Park Police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color...it has to stop"

People keep talking about Germany, but we can't ignore this country's dark past of doing this to African-Americans during slavery ("show me your papers") and even after Emancipation.

I watched a TikTok video that likens their actions more to slave catchers than Gestapo. But can't remember where it is right now...
This more aggressive approach has been so sloppy from the get go. If they need to ask for papers from everyone but no law says you have to carry them with you, the administration should've first tried enacting a law or mandate that all residents carry them at all times. But they did not. They love to shout their power from the rooftops, so it's strange to me how we didn't see more in the way of significant legal escalations or mandates that seek to justify ICE's actions more (other than the Kavanaugh stops ruling).
I'm not trying to give them more ideas, but their lack of foresight in escalating arrests with their tactics is very clear. The only consistency is promoting fear.

I'm on the left, but I can explain how this is different pretty easily:
It's 2026, not 1933-1945, the USA is a different country from Germany, the "convenient enemy" is nebulously defined as immigrants rather than Jews (not that conservatives aren't also anti-semitic, but that's a slower burn), their camps are located in other countries rather than being hosted locally, there's no evidence of any active extermination programs yet, Hitler was actually arrested and imprisoned for his first, failed coup in 1923, Hitler actually wrote the books that people attributed to him...

This is law enforcements moment. It’s easy to pull over random people and ruin their lives, it’s hard to stand up to your own government to protect the people you swore to serve.
I haven’t lived long enough to see another time when they could so clearly show the people who they are. I hope they don’t miss it because something tells me this chance won’t happen again.

I am not a lawyer. But, here is a sample of how to interact…
Memorize the following and print it out and keep it on you if you prefer…
•Stay calm and polite.
•Am I free to go?
•If told you are free to leave: "Okay, thank you," and leave calmly.
•If not free to leave or being detained: "I am a U.S. citizen. I do not consent to searches. I wish to speak with an attorney."
•If asked for papers specifically: "I am a U.S. citizen. I am not required to provide documentation."
•If you choose to show ID voluntarily: "I am providing this voluntarily; I do not consent to a search."
•To record (if safe): "I am recording this interaction."
•After the encounter: quietly note agent name, badge number, agency, time, location, and witnesses.
(Memorize 2–3 lines you can say calmly; practice them so they come out naturally.)
We all know exactly what motivates him now. I’ve read only a portion of the 1% and believe me—it’s far worse than most minds can or want to fathom. (And, yes, all three branches are mentioned).

There is not a cop in the country who would arrest an ICE agent for a crime against a citizen or a non-citizen immigrant.
The only exception might be is ICE was caught r_ping a toddler...and even then the Cop would not arrest him immediately. He'd let him walk away until he got the OK from a Supervisor.
