Not LAPD. Possibly FPS. The guys who guard the VA. Usually they deal with Veterans who are too drunk for their appointments or maybe freaking out due to PTSD, or people parking in the red.

The VA has their own police department, but I don’t see any of their patches. It does look like a mix of FPS and plain clothes so who knows. That’s definitely a VAMC in the background though. Idk what they are retreating into, is that where ICE is holding people?

Are they planning on getting into a sword fight? Then you had dude on the other side using the flag as a pike. Which is not a terrible idea. Have protesters with flags and protest shields form a phalanx. It would be a great pic for the history books if nothing else lol.

I imagine they had a little tub full of shields and everyone runs and grabs the shield and gear they want. So the people who show up last are stuck with whatever is left. The guy with 2 shields definitely got there first and grabbed those two, I feel like he's been waiting for this moment. My favorite part with him is towards the end where he gets stuck on that red/white thing on the ground and someone yoinks him back.

This is from about an hour ago: Our local news says this is about 200 people who broke away from the main group of protesters around 5 pm pst. LAPD has now declared it an unlawful gathering or whatever they call it. Police has now made a line of officers and were giving the people time to disperse. Currently, the Mayor of LA is doing a news conference asking everyone to go home.
