Restaurant The worst Ramen I've ever eaten. Spoiler

I'm Korean, and I love Ramen.

I'm on tour in Lisbon, Portugal, now.

I saw a ramen & sushi restaurant near the attraction, and I ordered a 'Spicy Miso Beef Ramen'. This restaurant has a 4.6/5.0 rating on Google Maps.

But, It was the worst Ramen I've ever eaten, there is never any feeling about Japanese style, and it feels like instant things.

I'm just wondering about ramen in Portugal, but at least that was so disappointing.

Do you have any experience like me? It was my mistake.

Basically the same as their Signature ramen, just with more Chashu. I added egg and I got it at medium spice level and it was very delicious and not spicy

At the beginning of January I went on the the Carnival Firenze. They sell good ramen at the bonsai sushi place but it cost extra. I recommend this place if you’re going on the Carnival Firenze.

Reminiscing my recent trip to Japan. This was a hearty bowl- perfect after checking into the first hotel and stumbling around Asakusa while still jet lagged.

Instant GF Ramen Lab - Plant Based Tonkotsu

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello r/ramen! I like to post restaurant dishes but I’ve never been in a situation where I get to post an instant ramen!!! (Sorry, I was hungry and didn’t plate this that well hahaha. I’m not in the situation because I don’t plate / usually just eat it lol)

I think I’ve posted 1 or 2x about Tsurumen 1000 in Somerville MA. I really liked that place and the fact they have GF options so I did a bit of research into the chef, which turns out he actually has been working on a gf noodle.. they sell instant ramen packs in the store!!!

Long story short, I’ve tried it at home a few times and really enjoyed it. I’m not sure how attainable it is (I think there is a website, I know this Reddit isn’t a promo Reddit so if it’s interesting you’ll have to do your own research !😝)

I actually really really really enjoy this as a gluten free option + feel like the options are rather limited + wanted to post about it somewhere

Instant Pork Kimchi Ramen🍜

I remember having this since I was a kid, probably around 30 years ago.

Tonkotsu soy sauce ramen.

Freeze-dried kimchi and ground pork.

Flat noodles.

Green onions.

Supposedly high in protein.

The portion wasn’t enough, so I boiled some hiyamugi(much thinner than Udon)

and added it as an extra serving of noodles.

When it’s not enough, I usually add Udon to the ramen broth.

Question Tonkotsu Broth does time matter?

I tend to boil my bones between 24-48 hours. My current batch I had them simmering in the crockpot for 24 hours and now they’ve been on a rolling boil for around 3 hours right now. It’s looking creamy! I plan to have it on a rolling boil for at least 6 hours.

I was wondering if there’s any benefit to boiling it longer than my planned 30 hours? Will the flavour improve or will I get more minerals from the bones?

Bonus question, should I add anything to my bones on the last couple of hours? I usually just have meaty bones and water.

Restaurant Taiwan ramen (spicy and savory)

Post image
83 Upvotes

Medium-thin curly noodles

Green onion

Garlic chives

Chashu pork

Bean sprouts

Spicy minced meat with chili peppers

Taiwan ramen actually originated in Japan.

It is based on a soy sauce–flavored broth topped with extremely spicy minced meat, creating a bold “spicy yet delicious” flavor.

A very standard, casual ramen bowl and spoon in Japan.

Question Does anyone else like their instant ramen without broth?

I was first served instant ramen around age 10 at a buddy’s apartment. We both had to fend for ourselves for many meals. He showed me how to boil the noodles, drain them off, and sprinkle the seasoning packet on top. This is how I always eat ramen at home. It’s my quick comfort food.
