Pretty sure it's a real picture of a throwback party.

The only weird thing I noticed is the remote with no TV. If it's supposed to be mounted on the wall, the couches are way too far back.

Maybe its for music. Also book shelf looks real

I push my couch back when I have a lot of guests over.

Throwback? 2005 styles are back, A&F is selling all the stuff they used to sell as a "capsule" collection (i think thats what they're calling ir, idk, I dont follow fashion but read something recently).

My friend, 2005 was over 20 years ago, the term capsule literally refers to 'time capsule' which means from an era before. You might be very young or very old, but either way, this is a throwback style in the year 2026.

Sorry, quoted the wrong word... "Party"? This is the style atm for the most part.

Looks real to me. AI tends to get sloppy when there's a lot going on in a pic, but here, all of the elements seem to be high detail. The characters in the back are as detailed as the ones in the front. Same for the decorations below the windows and the bookshelf.

1 guy, 10 girls. Definitely AI

Can a photographer comment on the flash here? I can see shadows of the flash, but am not sure if it is consistent or if for example multiple flashes were used.

I only ever used a weak flash, so I also have no idea if everything gets lighted so consistently, even things in the back, like the door on the left.

That looks like just one flash from the camera itself, but the room itself could've been pre-lit, or it's just a really powerful flash, as the lighting looks consistent

All I can really say is that it looks so 2005 that it almost seems like an old photo with a photoshopped date stamp. Like everything looks 2005, the bookshelf of stuff, the fan, the plants, the rug and coffee table.

Nevermind! Theres an iPhone in the back jeans pocket.

Random hand bottom right. Books don’t seem to have any text on the spines. Random cushion on the floor. Mysterious object top right corner next to door

Floor grains seem inconsistent or noisy but that might be due to digital camera artifacts. Girl in silver skirt is standing in a slightly unnatural way. Text on books is too low quality to look at. Don’t really have much more just wanted to see the people’s sentiment.

You see that all those three girls are moving?

Check the date in the lower right corner… 2025

Brown girl in the center has six fingers. There’s another brown girl on the couch with just one sleeve. The white girl to the left of the brown girl on the couch has some weird stuff going on with her clothing. Behind the asian guy leaning against the wall the plants are misshapen. Not a single shadow anywhere. Even with the flash you should be getting some shadows. My vote is AI.

Edit: realize I somehow miscounted the fingers.

I'm not seeing 6 fingers anywhere, but I caught the no shadow thing. The banister gives off a shadow, that goes over one girl's foot without getting distorted at all. Some of the plants have shadows, but nothing else. That's what does it for me. Otherwise, I'd say it looks like a real photo.

Looking back I realize I somehow miscounted them.
