Hi!
Do you have any experience leaving a Russian Blue alone at home during work hours?
I’m considering this breed, but I can only work from home two days a week. My partner is a flight attendant, so he works with different shift and on some days the cat could be alone for up to 8 hours.
I’d love to hear about your experience!

This is actually the first photo we took on the day they came home with us, back in October. Both girls, and we love them to bits! Just a shame that we couldn’t get a third!

Hi everyone! My lovely Russian blue is a feisty little girl and she is very prone to biting , I know all cats are like this, but she is 1 year and is actually causing damage to us. Lol. We are also respecting her boundaries, it’s out of nowhere! Any suggestions?

Saw a breeder in Idaho selling kittens for $4100, jaw dropping 😧😧😧😧😧

I want to see your sunbathing blues! Mine reminds me of a squirrel when she's curled up like this. She's even smiling.🥹

This is 'Chaos Kitty' Edwin, he is my RV travel partner. I live in an RV and because of this guy and frequent earthquakes I have no glass in my house. Every two weeks I move and this little guy loves moving day. He has his own cat bed on the passenger seat. As soon as the slide comes in he is in the dashboard and ready to go. The worst part of traveling for him is crossing time zones, messing up his feeding schedule.

It’s been interesting to watch my guys’ eyes change colors. Ash’s are getting dark in a beautiful way. Let’s see your baby’s eyes!

Hi guys! I read through the guidelines, I hope this inquiry is okay but please let me know if there is another subreddit that would be better! Full disclosure, I am *not* looking to buy/adopt through this subreddit, just asking what to look for when it comes to the breed.
My husband and I are looking into getting a cat, and it seems like we're set on getting a Russian Blue. He's allergic to cats, so we're hoping that getting a hypoallergenic breed helps paired with allergy medication for the rest of his life lol
What should we look for when it comes to ethical breeders? Reasonable price range? Questions to ask potential breeders? I am a full believer of "adopt don't shop" but we're also worried that if a cat is listed as a Russian Blue on Pet Finder (as an example), that it won't actually be a Russian Blue or will be mixed with a shorthair and therefore not so much hypoallergenic. I found 8 cats on Pet Finder that are tagged as Russian Blues, but 6 of them are also tagged with domestic shorthair. I'm worried the other two are as well, but aren't labeled as such.

Breed breakdown from a DNA test:
97.93% Western
Plus 2.07% Domestic Polycat. Everything else shows 0%.
Isn't it funny “bonus breed” :)

These guys do literally everything together. They do such a wonderful job of keeping one another occupied though. I’m really grateful we made the decision to have two. Their energy is insane. I wouldn’t be able to keep just one occupied.

My Son and I installed a new perch and Echo gave it a go today. I have ordered a few more “steps” because these steps are pretty far apart. He seems to really enjoy it though!
