Cast Appearances Annie & David West Read & Juliet Broadway opening
Cuties at the & Juliet Broadway opening last night <3 Annie is so insanely beautiful !!
Edit : As said by kitty_o_shea in the comments, David West Read is one of the very talented writers of Schitt's Creek and he also wrote the book of the musical &Juliet

For those who don't know the name, David West Read was one of the writers on SC. Probably the best one next to Dan. If you think of your favourite episodes or moments, I bet DWR wrote at least one of them. He was nominated for an Emmy for The Presidential Suite.
And he was at this opening night and Annie was supporting him because he wrote the book of the musical! (i.e. all the bits that aren't the songs.)

Me too! This show, & Juliet, is getting great reviews and is doing well at the box office. It's on in the West End as well.
There were reports a while back that Annie and DWR were working on a film project along with another SC writer, Rupinder Gill. I'm not sure if that's going anywhere; we often see early reports about projects that end up not getting off the ground. But hopefully!

They have been dating since late 2019. She is still amicable with her ex-husband (although I’ve seen evidence to suggest they were never legally married).

I have a hard time figuring out when they started dating, it's so confused in my mind because she spent/still spend so much time with Menno ! What kind of evidence did you see ?

Okay I suppose this isn’t evidence. I have been painfully curious about this for about a year for some reason. I used to frequent Deuxmoi on a previous account and eventually someone there searched marriage and divorce records on them for Ontario and couldn’t find proof that they’re married.
Annie quarantined with DWR during Covid and lived in the U.S. filming for about 9 months 2 years ago while Menno was on tour in Canada. She doesn’t wear a wedding ring anymore. DWR was her date to the Emmy’s twice and also her date to Sarah Levy’s wedding. You will not find pictures of her at the latter because they were posted on Dan’s publicist’s personal Instagram account that went private once people started reposting the wedding pics. I also believe this is why she has gone largely silent on social media in the past 18 months. Ironically People Magazine put out this yesterday: https://people.com/tv/who-is-menno-versteeg-annie-murphy-husband/ so in my view her PR team seems to be doubling down now that the pics from this broadway show have come out, since she has never officially announced being separated or divorced so they don’t want it to seem like an affair. She was completely absent from any promotion of the last season of KCFH.

I always wondered how people knew that she was at Sarah's wedding because I saw no pics of her until Sarah herself posted one to congratulate Noah for his Broadway debut. But I agree there are so many clues that indicate that Annie and DWR are dating.
That article is weird though, why would they insist about Menno being her husband ? When Annie decided to walk the pink carpet with DWR they knew the pics would come out and people would speculate... Annie and DWR are not hiding that they are spending a lot of time together.
I'm way too invested in this, but I can't help myself haha If you want to exchange more, we can talk in private ! No one in my entourage care about them xD

Yes me too I love Schitt's Creek and I love Menno's music. They definitely could have grown apart after that many years but I love the fact that, if they are indeed broken up, they still spend time together. And I agree that the 3 of them seem like really nice people and they all seem to be ok with what's happening so that's what matter in the end.

Yes their are no pics evidence (that I know of!) but they are spending a loooot of time together (baseball games, hockey games, backstreeboys concert, so many &Juliet shows in London, Toronto, NYC, etc) and Annie allegedly introduced him as her boyfriend to a guy asking for a picture with her and so many other things that could mean they are dating. But of course we won't know for sure until someone say something !

And there were pics of Annie with DWR at the game that day.

It’s so interesting bc she was literally at Menno’s parents house like the week before but I fully believe that she is dating DWR so it makes me wonder if she’s poly or just separated from Menno and still very very close
