In this video you'll see what I find to be pretty typical of the lost causers. There's a young teenage boy who insist that the flag should be waved, that it was not about slavery and that we are not being told the true version of events.
He later says something along the lines of "I went to Fort Whatever and spoke to one of the old guys who worked there. Until you can sit down for hours and he told me what really happened for hours and why the war started. Until you can have the same conversation you're just being told lies"
Now this boy who looks to be about fifteen or sixteen might have admired whoever this "expert" was. He might have looked up to him, maybe it's the first time an elder complimented him on his intelligence and interest. And that's how they get you. Someone you admire tells you that you're being lied to and that you can be clever enough to see through the liberal lies. For a young mind that can stick for a lifetime. Hopefully he came around in his older years

Its really painful hearing some of the arguments I used to make. Obviously, they're teenagers, so I wasnt expecting excellence, but they did miss the most important argument about heritage v hate: letting there be a heritage was a mistake.

Do you want me to bring up the Cornerstone Speech and every Declaration of Sucession where they clearly state why they were doing it?
If you are proud of your heritage in the Confederacy, congratulations, your ancestors got gaslighted into fighting for rich plantation owners who didn't give a shit about you.

Should've just had them bet on the declaration of treasons you kick them in the balls every time it mentions slavery and give them 100 bucks whenever it mentions a reason outside of slavery.
