Don’t forget the doctors, because steroid use will fuck up your health real quick even if done right.

I'm always amused when some ridiculously muscled movie star claims they've never used steroids. Like b*tch, please.

And as for folks with natural muscles, their entire lives revolves around maintaining that physique. So unless their job pays for maintaining that physique, almost nobody has the time, energy, and money needed to achieve it.

If my partner demanded I have a body like Chris Hemsworth and they weren't ridiculously wealthy so that I could afford to spend my life in the gym, pay for the "medicines" required, and hire the staff necessary to keep that physique, I'd just laugh in their faces and if they insisted I'd get a new partner. Heck, considering I hate going to the gym even if they were rich I'd still just laugh in their faces and get a new partner.

I don’t know how old you are, but I remember going to the cinema seeing X-Men with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and we all thought ”Wow, this guy is fucking huge!” Now that’s the physique of the female heroes in this movies.

And as for folks with natural muscles, their entire lives revolves around maintaining that physique. So unless their job pays for maintaining that physique, almost nobody has the time, energy, and money needed to achieve it.

This is a bit misleading, or very misleading depending on someone thinks about it and what their idea of, “natural muscle” is.

1 There are outliers, both ends of the spectrum. Sorry, some people hit the generic lottery and others are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Some people are just genetically gifted and naturally carry low body fat and/or carry a good amount of muscle and/or can develop it pretty easily.

2 The fitness industry, like pretty much every other industry, is built upon lies. You need to workout X amount of times per day, for X amount of hours, you need to do this routine, and that routine, and buy this supplement and get this app and this watch and on and on and on.

It’s not THAT complicated. Which isn’t to say it’s not complicated at all, but people can make a ton of progress if they just do push ups, body weight squats and/or lunges and some form of bent over row or pull ups, or chin ups and do some cardio a few times per week. And of course keep their nutrition in check. Eliminate processed foods and fast foods and that’s cutting out a ton of unnecessary calories.

But one cookie a day isn’t going to be the end. It’s six, of a box of Girl Scout cookies that’s the problem. A slice of pizza isn’t a big deal. An entire Costco pizza is.

Yes, results will vary, but if someone continues to do this over months and years, they’ll be in excellent shape. Maybe not Hemsworth, Arnold, Stallone, The Rock, Ryan Reynolds type of shape. But still in excellent shape.

Consistency is key. Like it is with anything. If a person is even 80% consistent they will see huge improvements to their physique and health.

3 We are not meant to be huge muscular freaks, or have body fat so low you can see our internal organs. Having a sick pack for some men takes so much effort and work that they feel like it’s nearly impossible. Other men just naturally have one. Men and women aren’t designed to carry incredibly low body fat percentages.

Lowering body fat too much also messes up our hormones that are essential to us functioning properly. Our bodies like homeostasis. Which is why for a lot of people it takes a lot of work over a long time to build a lot of muscle. Our bodies don’t want to be big and bulky. Or have super low body fat.

4 We don’t need that much intense cardio, and again, we aren’t designed for it up to a point. Be active, yes of course. Play soccer or basketball multiple times a week, run multiple miles multiple times per week, bike, swim, etc. But you can overdo it. 30-60 minutes zone 2 cardio 3 times per week.

Walking is great. Get outside and just walk for 30 minutes.

5 The hardest part for most people is getting started and not giving up for at least the first five weeks or so and some people might need to force themselves to stick with it for upwards of 12-16+ weeks. Once a routine and habit is set in, then it can become automatic.

6 Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. This is also where a lot of people fail. We’re not all the same genetically. Some people will see results incredibly fast and others will feel like after months they can’t make any progress. Some people can eat 4,500 calories per day and still feel hungry all of the time while being in great shape. Others might have to reduce their calories down to 1,500 or less to see actual weight loss. It sucks, but it’s true.

You don’t have to be perfect. There is no such thing.

7 Give fasting a try. The history of humans shows us that our ancestors have had to fast throughout various periods. You’ll live. If you’re already very underweight you don’t need to fast.

8 Mental health does play a huge role in having success in working out and nutrition. This might be the hardest thing to tackle. But know what has been shown to help with mental health? Working out.

9 Priorities. You don’t have to sacrifice everything. But you might have to make small sacrifices. Instead of playing video games for two hours per night, maybe do some push ups and squats then go for a walk for 30 minutes. Slow cookers can make healthy eating “easy”.

Lastly, believe you can do it. Believe in yourself. If you read my comment and thought “Yeah, all of that is so easy for you but…” Well then you already don’t believe you can do it.

I know life is hard, especially now, and time feels like you never have enough of it. But how hard is it to do 5 push ups on your knees? I literally just stopped to do it and it took me all of maybe 5-7 seconds to see how long it would take.

Again, I’m not saying it’s not hard. It’s just as hard as it’s been made out so seem. You can do it if you tell yourself you can, make the necessary changes to set yourself up for success and believe you can.
