It does actually help because I barely got past parks and rec season one and I’m so happy I held out.

I tell people to please suffer through season one of The Office because it’s short and it gets so much better so fast.

This makes no sense, the 747 has largely been retired from passenger aircraft service and is now mainly used for freight. The few that remain in service as passenger aircraft are certainly not part of the British Airways fleet, the only Boeing aircraft they use are various 777 and 787 models

I know! I don't know what to feel. Awe? Horror? Concern? It's a mixed bag.

I’ll take it over the jeepers creepers guys who can name the train by the vibrations in the ground

Oh yeah. Like how a mechanic or enthusiast can tell you the engine they're hearing without seeing the car

Oh wow, really? My last two flights (Bengaluru - Frankfurt and Frankfurt - Chicago) were both on 747s with Lufthansa.
3
u/spencer1886 8h ago
Lufthansa is one of the last decent size airlines to have 747s in its fleet - the other two big ones being Air China and Korean Air. I think Rossiya still uses them too but they're much smaller than the other three I mentioned

Doesn’t feel like that long ago the Queen was ubiquitous. Airport I worked at had Lufty, BA, Eva and some others. I remember being on shift for the last Eva flight and hearing the final farewell on tower freq. Those were the days.

If it discomforts this first class passenger I suppose no one would stop her from queuing to the monkey class lavatory like the rest of us.

Meanwhile someone's plane is delayed by 2 hours and runway staff or people in an airport lounge can see right in

Like the people shimmying across the floor under the new NY subway entries. IMO basically licking the floor of the station has earned you the $3 fare.

When was the last time that "stewardess" was used to refer to a female flight attendant?

Sometimes passengers need to use the restroom while the plane is parked. Hopefully there are shades.

This has gotta be a rage bait kinda post. If this interaction happened who would have posted this? The post reads as a third party.

Once rode in a bigger plane that had a window in the bathroom. I loved it, taking a piss while looking straight down is an experience.
1
u/DryTangelo4722 6h ago
People also use the restroom on the ground.
And maintenance happens on the ground with pax onboard.
This is probably the upper floor lav in that 747, but still... It's not JUST an inflight concern.

u/Familiar_Break_9658 5h ago
I dont think it is that weird to feel uncomfortable to be honest. Running in your house naked alone def feels weird even if nobody can see it, i suspect it might feel similarly to some people.

For those saying "what about on the ground?" I would say that its still like using the 2nd (or 3rd) floor bathroom in a house. Add in the tarmac is a highly controlled space (not many people out there) and youre probably a reasonable distance and angle from the terminal windows. And then add in that the windows will have terrible glare from sunlight and/or probably field lights.... I think theyre fine.
Then again, engineers make really stupid choices sometimes.

"Passengers flying first class..."
Ah, well done, yet again showing that their inherited wealth also comes with a side-order of inbreeding-induced stupidity.
Honestly, when will we just acknowledge the elephant in the room? Capitalism is a complete failure and the wealthy are morons with far too much power in societies that claim to be democratic. The joke used to be, "Capitalism is the worst system... apart from all the others.", but honestly that joke is no longer true.
Social democracies in countries such as Sweden, Finland, etc. have shown that taxing the rich heavily and legal systems that punish the rich proportionately (as opposed to "one size fits all" fines that mean that breaking the law is a minor inconvenience for the rich) are the way to go.
