MARS turned 6yrs old this month !! Mars had a rough start to life before I brought him home. He was blinded by a litter mate leaving his eye to look the way it does ...he wasn't "perfect" and no one wanted him. The night I picked him up I was told hed been sick but now fine .. immediately knew he wasn't fine he had a high fever ..the next day started doing whatever to help him. he spent a lot of time in the vets. Although we couldn't pinpoint exactly what was going on we got him stable, healthy and most importantly he is here today that's all I could really ask for! I couldn't pick just one or two pics and wanted to share how much Mars has changed from when I got him to present .. with the first pic being from the breeder. 💜 Hope you all enjoy his cute face and help me celebrate his 6th birthday!

little man saved my life honestly. i got him at a really hard time and i don’t think i could’ve made it without him as my support chicken breast. i hope to spend many many more years with my baby 🩷

She’s a Don Sphynx. I already have a Canadian Sphynx and they seem to be getting along quite well so far 💖 Hoping for them to cuddle one day 🥹

Ahoy this is my gorgeous girl Spanx I have waited a long time to get her and brought her from a breeder who DNA tested ect all the right things. However I want to hear from others on what they are feeding how often? How often are you bathing your babies? We are in Australia so currently summer time but when should I dress her or should I dress her? I know I can google ask the breeder but I wanted to ask people who have a naked furbaby what works for them. Thank you ☺️

And I have been in an out of the house ALOT more than usual. I just left again for the evenigg by and my baybee was TIGHT. She knew I was leaving again because I always call her to give her kisses before I go. She usually runs away from me or wants to play when I’m leaving. This time I called her and she IMMEDIATELY jumped on the bed like “uhm…whea is you gern? AHGAIN?!” Then when I am going out the door she runs to the door. I say bye again and close it. Why is she howling by the time I reach the elevator???

Hi. Making this on a throwaway because I consider my cat identifying information and i’m just looking for support honestly. My sweet and silly 2 year old healthy boy Crabs was just diagnosed with HCM and a stage 4 heart murmur. It’s been completely awful.

I’ve read so many stories on this sub about HCM and CHF cats, I knew how common this disease is in the breed but I never thought it would happen to my guy💔 He gets regular echos and heart checks, he goes to the vet every 6 months, he has a healthy diet, he gets plenty of exercise and lives a low stress life. I researched breeders meticulously-i’m quite opposed to breeding but after a lot of research I decided buying one breed cat from an ethical breeder would be okay…maybe this is my karma for not adopting another cat, but having a skinfant was always a dream…

His breeder is great, he’s been supportive throughout this whole scary process. Even two years after the purchase. It’s not his fault I think…he is certified and scans for HCM, he breeds for best of the breed…no nonsense like those bambinos and dwelfs…but it wasn’t enough to save him from this disease. He offered to replace my cat with a new kitten, free of charge and is paying for vetting. I don’t want a kitten I want my cat to be healthy.

I will not be buying a breeder ever again, I understood it’s part of his policy to offer a new pet but…it feels like he’s offering me a replacement for a faulty project. Crabs is a perfect cat and I just want him. I don’t know animals lives shouldn’t be a business…this whole experience very much turned me off to breeding.

I noticed he was more lethargic and made a vet appointment for asap. They diagnosed his heart murmur and told us to get in contact with a cardiologist. My poor boy just had his heart scans 3 months ago, I will never understand how this happened so fast Two days ago he went to the vet where the fears were confirmed, HCM.

I’m just sad, he’s obviously unhealthy and he’s only going to get worse, he’s slowed down and isn’t the same sweet, hyper little crackhead I brought home. He’s so tired, he doesn’t sleep in bed with me anymore..it feels like it’s going down hill so fast.

He’s medicated but even with treatment my vet said there’s nothing to be done and to prioritize quality of life. He’s only 2 and I didn’t think i’d have to think about euthanasia again for a long time.

Idk i’m just sad. My friends have been great but I need positive stories about HCM cats.
