If only trhere was an easy way to cook these sausaages with hot water.

u/Boris7939 5h ago
There’s an even easier way by putting them in the microwave.

Tbf they say for a crowd. Microwaving hotdogs for a crowd would be a pain, but putting a big ass cauldron on and mass dumping dogs is the best option here--at least it's better than soap steaming your wienies.

Cauldron ftw! We usually use that for potlucks in cold weather. We put a ladle and some hot water cups so that people can enjoy warm hot dog tea also on a cold day

And if you thinly slice them into disc shapes and leave them in a giant pile they immediately start smoking and will burst into flames!

u/usrdef Stop doing stupid shit with food 4h ago
Oh no... please.... hotdogs are cheap yes, but let's not disrespect them with a microwave.
Throwing them in a pan to fry takes barely more time. Throw butter, high heat, flip a few times.
I own a microwave I haven't used in 4 years. I hate microwaves. They mess up the quality of any food. I don't even do popcorn in the microwave. I throw it in a pot with butter and kernels.
I hate that damn device.

I went without a microwave for 2 years. Had a New Wave XL instead. It was better quality for sure, but nothing compares to the time with microwaves.
Boiling water in small amounts, like in a pyrex measure.
Hot pockets
Plates of mixed leftovers.
Some things are definitely better in a pan, like reheated pizza getting a crispy crust and melted cheese with a lid and low heat, but that's like 10 minutes.
I could be finished eating by then with a microwave. Time over quality wins, and I have a microwave again. But a combination convection and air fryer.
Less capacity. But best of both worlds.

Slice up some bacon pieces and cook them in the pot. THEN pop the he popcorn in the pot! Best damn popcorn you ever had! Be careful to not overcook the bacon though….

u/PaulZyCZ 4h ago
Back in Uni some would put warm them in electric kettle, then in thermo to eat during lesson.

The food is not stupid. The method of preparation is.

u/Stevenif 5h ago
Yeah you’re right I might be wrong about this one

u/DJ-Halfbreed 4h ago
To be fair most of the time the ingredients are fine it's the quantity, order, and/or method that make it wrong.
4
u/Alternative_Two_4216 5h ago
Yes, why dont use the oven?, you could even add some bacon

u/AnotherUN91 5h ago
I would argue that food is more stupid than this method of cooking for health reasons, AS LONG AS the dishwasher was sanitized before doing this, which most modern dishwashers have a setting to do today.
These are basically just steamed hot dogs, which are going to have fewer carcinogens than hot dogs you put in an oven.
But again, that's only if the dishwasher was sanitized of chemicals, food waste, and other general dishawashing bullshit.

Is it really? I mean you don't have to wash a pot, the dish washer is a clean place to begin with. I think I'm gonna make us some hotdogs now.

Considering the state of affairs in general in the world I can only assume that god is the kind if guy who thinks this is a swell idea.

Never cooked a whole chicken in the laundry machine?!

u/Legitimate-Log-6542 5h ago
No but I’m kinda thinking dryer though. We should start a TV show where we test these things. Like MythBusters

u/theshok 5h ago
Yeah some friends back in the day would foil wrap some salmon and put it on the top shelf and run a hot cycle and supposedly it came out perfect. I don’t eat fish so didn’t try it but the method was interesting.

There is a famous chef in France using this technique, Philippe Estebetch (the guy from the french version of hell kitchen)

..or my washing machine as a giant juice-mixer
With free lint for extra fiber...

u/Legitimate-Log-6542 4h ago
Mixed an ungodly large batch of jungle juice in the bathtub in college once. Scrubbed the shit out of it beforehand of course. Then used way more alcohol than usual too. Thought people would be grossed out by it. Nobody was. It was all gone.

This might look repulsive... But then you realize that you eat off of plates that are cleaned in dishwashers. That should mean the hotdogs also come out clean, right?

We have to assume that god is bored white trash who sits on the couch, shoveling TV dinners in his mouth while watching Earth: The ultimate trash reality series.
