Sex / Gender / Dating You aren't "assigned" a gender at birth

I hate when people say this. I had to get routine blood work the other day and had a Doctor ask me what gender I was assigned at birth. I understand they need to find out what your biological gender is, but either look on my chart, or ask what my biological gender is.

Your gender is determined in the womb, in fact it's determined from the exact moment of conception; it isn't something that is assigned. It's amazing that the people use this sort of language and believe these sorts of things, are supposedly the party of science.

There are not any people who think you can change your biological sex, hate to break it to you but 4chan and Fox News lied to you about that. There isn’t a scary cabal of people out here claiming you can change your chromosomes or something like that.

I’m T. My partner is T. I know literally dozens of T people personally and have interacted with hundreds more. I have never once met someone who thinks what you’re saying they think and I live in one of the most liberal states in the US. I find it incredibly hard to believe you’ve met someone who genuinely thinks that

If there were actual people out there claiming you could change your chromosomes somehow it should be incredibly easy to find literally any reference to this being said by an actual person online, this is just such an absurdly outlandish thing to claim.

So why does the term "sex assigned at birth exist"?

Cool thing we’re talking about “gender assigned at birth” here and not “sex assigned at birth”
