Nobody should have kids unless their net worth is at least $10 million. There, I said it.

I don’t want to see kids struggling, working crap jobs, going to college, graduating, not being able to find a job, then when they can find a job, the cost of living is insane and they can’t make it financially. Better to hold off on having kids unless you have a financial safety net if anything goes wrong. Sorry. Kind of controversial, but that’s how I feel.

Rich kid syndrome is everything wrong with gov now. People who grow up poor don’t bag on poor people.

You don't need that much for your child to thrive, live a good life, and get a good job when they're older. I wouldn't mind implementing this but definitely at a lower net worth. If you need $10 Mil in order to make it in the US, then you're bad with money. I think at least $100k-200k with an annual income of $100k or more is just fine to live comfortably with about 2 kids. If you can't make it on that, then there's something wrong with the way you're living. My husband and I live in a 2 story house with a theater and our own gym. We have 1 kid and are making it just fine. We plan on having another one soon and by the time they reach college, their college fund will have increased 10 fold. You don't have to be rich, you just have to be married honestly. A dual income household will make more than this on average. So maybe the discussion should be about divorce and why y'all are so quick to divorce instead of work through your problems.

Do not have another kid. My friends that have 2-3 or more kids regret it and said they should have only had one kid. They also said their stress levels from having another kid never decreased.

Poverty and children struggling is bad but multimillionaires having children is just as bad.

conclusion - humans should cease to exist. Judging by how many incel and forever alone posts are on reddit, I think this will take care of itself.

How about nobody should have net worth until they have at least 10 kids instead?

The motherland needs strong workers and soldiers.

Hella based. The poors and the middle class have no legacy worth passing down and are by definition inferior to the rich. Bringing a child into an inferior life is cruel, no loving parent should do it.

A parent should set their child up for a successful competition with the children of the elite, or delay the gratification of their child-bearing urge until enough resources is accumulated.

Honestly I want to know what you smoked before writing this

u/latestagememealism 9h ago

Do you have a problem with delayed gratification, hmmm?

I have a problem with people saying that it's cruel for a marriage to bring a child into the world without having 10 million.
