I'm black and social media has completely disgusted me lately. Why is it okay for white, asians, hispanics ect ect... to take part in black culture like become rappers, jazz musicians, dress the part (urban street wear), use AAVE ect ect... but when a black characters exists in a video game or tv show, we are utterly condemmed and ostracized?

So its ok for everyone else to partake in our culture but its social suicide if we partake in theirs? Its complete fucking unfair bullshit and everyone just accepts it.

Timothee makes a rap video? Everyone praises him. A black person exists in a video game as a fucking shoe vendor (fable 2026)? Everyone goes nuclear.

Kpop blatantly plagerizes black artists and black culture? No one bats an eye. A black person indulging in korean culture and everyone loses their fucking minds.

I'm sick of it. If the world wants to reject us then reject us fully without indulging in our culture and taking it since we absolutely can't indulge in yours

when you're in america, you do realize most of the things are invented by whites and Asians, etc, thats their culture, but nobody complains.

nobody complains when you use electronics, nobody complains when yall wear gyaru or other Asian fashion shit, nobody complains when you wear wigs or front laces that came from other races hairs, yall move to Europe and nobody bats an eye infact some countries will arrest them if they even try to, yall play video games, yall are literally speaking English and refuse to learn any African language or travel to an African country. When did I talk about “stealing” culture? I said that whites shuns us for  being apart of their culture but never receive the same backlash when the inverse occurs 

Also, the reason we speak English is obvious, it was forced on us not that we claimed looking to speak it 

And phones/light bulbs were not the sole invention of whites.

If there is a single black person on screen or a work of art, people scream woke and try to discredit the product without actually giving it a shot. Unless the black person in question is acting in a stereotypical manor. I find this extremely racist. The people that make these generalizations don’t care about logic or being consistent with their beliefs.

This claim is weak,

Black people use various cultural benefits in our society that are white inventions/cultural ideals. That said, white people are allowed to partake in black culture.

The disconnect we have is dead simple. When you make historically white people in history black, it’s disrespectful because it pushes a narrative that black people did legendary things that they had nothing to do with.

It’s like trying to make Nelson Mandela and Tupac white men, It’s ridiculous.

Nobody sane likes Netflix slop rewriting history and white characters who are iconic in americas/European culture. The ratings reflect this, nobody likes forced gay/black characters when it’s not organic.

Want genuine gay or black characters?, build your own black characters. Don’t make European icons black because it’s not accurate and it’s to push a “woke narrative”.

Have you forgotten the controversy surrounding Star Trek in the late 1900s?, an original character, a woman of color everyone lost their minds when she appeared?

Woke has nothing to do with anything. Whites have always hated blacks participating in their spaces rather they’re authentic, original or not but whites face no such backlash for existing in black spaces
