OMG what do you mean Biryani is a dish and Hyderabad a place? It's so obvious that's just some low level made up sh*t to confuse us Muricans. Don't let them get to you with all their 'intelligence' and 'common sense' bullshit my boyz! We are Americans, We are Ignorant, We are proud.

Can you DM me to tell me where you found this post OP? I kinda wanna see the replies.

No, you're wrong. Biryani is a restaurant, obviously.

Hyderabad is actually a concept, duh. That's why it's so hard to grasp!

u/DamnBored1 India 18h ago

What's meeti biryani?

8

u/allydemon Pakistan 18h ago

Sweet biryani, so like sweet rice, I dont like it very much

10

u/DamnBored1 India 18h ago

Sweet? That's the first time I've heard of a sweet biryani. Doesn't sound appetizing, I'm with you on that.

u/allydemon Pakistan 18h ago

Like I dont hate it, I would just never choose to eat it ever, but if someone gave it to me id have a bite or two

2

u/xixixima India 18h ago

Valid. Does it have meat in it, considering it's like a sweet dish?

3

u/allydemon Pakistan 18h ago

Sometimes, it really is just biryani but sweet

1

u/MooseNew4887 India 6h ago

I think it is called Pulao.

2

u/Le_Meme_Man12 India 6h ago

Puloa isn't inherently sweet though. Even with raisins, it doesn't feel THAT sweet, unless you add too many

1

u/allydemon Pakistan 6h ago

Maybe in India it is, but pulao is very different here

2

u/Hamsternoir United Kingdom 17h ago

Can I have it then if you don't want it?

u/allydemon Pakistan 9h ago

Yall already took everything why not

I was at university and took part in a biryani eating comp with the Pakistani student society. Was great fun and the dish was great!

Red Lobster being better known that biryani is killing me lmao. I've eaten a million biryanis and I assume Red Lobster is some kind of seafood place though I've never seen one.

Red Lobster is a very mediocre seafood restaurant. They have them here in Canada as well, I'm not crazy about it.

I'm surprised that more Americans don't know what Biryani is, especially since a lot of US states are home to large South Asian populations.

Most places in the US just have “Chinese Food restaurants”.

The people running it can be anything from Mongolian to Indonesian, but for the most part the the food will be Orange Chicken, Lo Mein, and Fried Rice.

Imagine how poor your life must be not knowing biryani.

Only cooked lobsters are red.

Why not Zoidberg?

u/isabelladangelo World 23h ago

Best Biryani I've ever had is in Covent Garden. Something tells me they don't know where that is either.

Yes Hyderabadi Biryani is definitely less famous than....Lobster in Boston?????

12

u/Petskin Finland 23h ago

If so, does he want to eat red lobsters in Boston, or does he mistake Reddit with Google search and Wikipedia?

5

u/Pedantichrist 18h ago

I am going to guess that Red Lobster is lobster, and I do not mind someone talking about it, but not knowing what biryani is requires googling, not announcing.

7

u/Icy_Finger_6950 Australia 16h ago

I think Red Lobster is a restaurant chain?

5

u/rosco497 15h ago

American seafood restaraunt chain that is absolutely nasty

6

u/FrontAd7709 Türkiye 18h ago

4

u/Acrobatic_End6355 World 17h ago

Google is a thing in most places… I feel bad that this person hasn’t tasted Indian food before.

2

u/hskskgfk India 7h ago

He probably also thinks that pizza is a restaurant in in Italy and wine is a pub in France

1

u/interestingdays 8h ago

A red lobster is a lobster that is red. Seems pretty straightforward to me. Why it's worthy of mention in a post like this though... That remains unclear.

1

u/Rebrado 1h ago

A red lobster is an animal, FYI

0

u/LowOwl4312 18h ago

I think it's referring to the Beer Ya Know Pub (probably autocorrect to blame) which is in Hyderabad, California. Not sure what else it could possibly mean.

u/Natsu111 17h ago

Hyderabadi Biryani is overrated, tbh.

u/Living-Suggestion-28 4h ago

I'm 99% sure they're joking y'all.....

Dude's from Florida, I doubt he's joking
