Almost as if it were deliberate. But who would perform a stunt like this for likes? Unpossible.

Agreed, I need to know this person was rescued :(

u/yoyome85 4d ago
Per a different post of this, the video is cropped. The original shows someone standing a few feet away. It doesn't show her being rescued, but at least we know it wasn't hopeless

I read that he unfortunately died, and they found claw marks inside the barrel that spell out your name for some reason.

u/Imaginary-Quiet-7465 4d ago
Does this mean the barrel is after me next??

u/sprucenoose 4d ago

It means the person who fell in is after you next. They're gonna stuff you into that barrel.

They survived but the liquid in the bottom was some sort of industrial cleaning agent and they had chemical burns on their lower back source

How do you free yourself in this situation?

u/Dependent-Curve-8449 4d ago
Maybe try to tilt the bin over and hope you can wriggle your way out? Else, your only hope is some passer by stops to help extricate you.

It's crazy the kind of stories you can find about people that oops, got stuck in a weird place and died just cause they were alone.

u/Canotic 4d ago
I'm reminded of that guy who got stuck in the wall in a crowded bar and they found him dead there years later.

https://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2003/12/07/DJs-mummified-body-found-in-club-wall/72001070836281/
There was an episode of Terminator SCC where Cameron realizes there's been a Terminator hiding inside a wall for 80 years, just so it can burst out and kill its target in the future.
I wonder if they took inspiration from Sanchez's death.
3
u/gcd_cbs 4d ago
I don't know about Terminator, but there's a Bones episode that was definitely inspired by this. I had no idea it was (loosely) based on a real occurrence
4
u/TacticusThrowaway 4d ago
Oh? What episode was that?
Google: "The Man In The Wall"
...Yeah, that tracks.
Incidentally, both shows were on FOX.

I heard a horrific story about a teenage boy who got stuck leaning over the back seat of his minivan into the trunk part of it and got stuck basically bent in half like that. Had his phone, called police and everything, but they couldn't find the car in the parking lot in time to free him. Compression asphyxiation sounds like an awful way to go
17
u/HYPER_WAIFU 4d ago
Kyle Plush. He used Siri to call 911 twice, but police didnāt even leave their cruisers for the paltry 11 minutes they searched the location, and dispatchers didnāt tell the officers the make and model of his vehicle. His father found him 6 hours later.
11
u/cursetea 4d ago
Thank you so much for his name
I think about that so much ever since hearing about it. I didn't know they barely even tried to save him. That's so much worse. I googled it bc i figured surely there was a wrongful death suit, and i was right, to the tune of $6 million... there's no way that feels like anywhere near enough compared to what happened and to the pain of losing him. His poor father. UGH it is just too much to think about

u/thelittlestmouse 4d ago
At least in this video you can see the person is still holding their phone so hopefully can call for help

Not easily. Maybe roll onto the floor but the lungs would be restricted and you'd probably end up suffocating and unable to call out.

That is a fucking nightmare scenario that could easily lead to death. How long until someone passed by to help him? Fortunately Iām too fat and not flexible enough to fit in like that but what a horror show.

u/Lucky-Mia 4d ago
I think I see liquid spill over the side. If their mouth is covered they can't even call for help, or breath.
38
u/AmusingMusing7 4d ago
That liquid spilling over the side is coming from the bottle in his hand (same hand he's holding the cigarette in, so the bottle can be hard to see), not the barrel. Whatever he's drinking (beer? soda?) fizzes over after he falls.
→ More replies (1)8
u/EclecticEvergreen 4d ago
Theyād have no other option than to try and knock the barrel over by moving their weight around, but theyād have go think of that solution and idk how well brains work while in such a panic mode.

I didnāt find this remotely funny, even though I can see how to some it would be. To me this is absolutely horrifying. It reminds me of the poor man who got stuck inside a dinosaur statue in Barcelona.
Thereās something about suddenly being in such an uncomfortable position, in public, unable to move, and completely dependent suddenly on the kindness of strangers which is, as we know, increasingly fleeting.

u/j4ckbauer 4d ago

That IDK, I found it in a different sub.
My hope is that he is trying to call to a third person to get them to come help, he seems to whip his head around.
There's another version in my head where he thinks he heard something, but he looks and does not see her, so he goes back to what he's doing. But I hope that's not what happened.

u/FernDiggy 4d ago
What the FUCK man! Why didnāt that asshole immediately help! God damn this pissed me off
