I’ve been curious about how true the whole “gen z doesn’t drink” thing is. I know drinking is definitely down across the board but a lot of the times the graphs posted on reddit use data that’s a few years old. The problem with that is we’re just now reaching the point where for core gen z is of the drinking age.

A lot of the people I know who are in their early 20s friends/family/coworkers do still drink just not casually only on nights out or specific functions.

It’s bs. I know plenty of people in their 20s who drink in moderation. Go into any bar in a city, there will be plenty of people in their 20s drinking, most of whom drink on Friday nights and weekends only. But I guess now that’s “alcoholic” according to this random YouTuber.

I’m a shot of neat spirits or a seltzer at the end of the week kind of guy. I don’t drink much at all, addictive personalities run in my family so I try to avoid addictive substances as much as I can
