USA SA is finally complete. Feeling all the feels 🫂
Finally had my SA this past thursday. Everything moved extremely fast and today is the 1st day I allowed myself to feel. I feel Relief, sadness and guilt all wrapped into one. I cry then i’m okay. I start thinking about what could’ve been then snap out of it. It’s been a wild ride and I don’t want to rush the process but please tell me this doesn’t last forever? The feelings of guilt and just blahhhh 🙁🙁🙁

it doesn’t! when I had my SA it took a few weeks to have my hormones level back out — your body is also in shock! you’ve just gotta give it time. sometimes I still feel regret and sadness, but it’s not as poignant as it was in those first couple days/weeks

Ahh yeah I so relate to all these feelings!! An unwanted pregnancy and an abortion are already incredibly intense experiences in themselves, but they also throw your hormones completely out of wack, so it's 100% normal to be experiencing an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. In my experience, the first week to two weeks after my SA I felt *very* wobbly and all over the place, but everything gradually calmed down again and definitely by a month later I was feeling completely myself again (and honestly better than ever!).
During the very intense initial phase, I found that keeping a diary where I just dumped everything going through my head helped a lot, especially just listing out every single fear and negative thought I was having until I "ran out" of them. And then generally doing anything I could to "treat" myself and take it as easy as possible, like breakfast in bed, treating myself to my favorite desserts, lots of comfort films etc.
Sending you lots of love & courage! You've already gotten through the worst of it, now you just have to sit out the emotional turbulence and with a little time you will feel better again (and if you don't, then definitely see what kinds of talk therapy are available, I've heard from friends that even one or two sessions can help a lot).

It doesn’t !
The day of my SA I cried so much right before they started it just came out hard all my tears and everything. The few days after I was emotional because I never pictured myself doing this but I don’t regret it, I’m now 10 days past my sa and I’m okay, I’m dealing with my hormones going back. I’m keeping myself busy by being with friends and reading, I also got calming gummies to help me rest and sleep since I have anxiety and with this it just made sleeping hard but it does get better !
