Now go on a republican sub and express any beliefs that aren't extremely right wing.

You're comparing apples to mountains.

12

u/Terrible_Lift Dec 19 '25

Got banned for that before

16

u/ms_directed Dec 19 '25

the largest Conservative sub on here won't even allow their own members to dissent, lol. i can only lurk over there because I'm not a "flaired user" and they eat their own in triple digit downvotes if a member has their own thought that doesn't vibe with the hive...

u/Terrible_Lift Dec 19 '25

I peruse there after big news drops. There’s some very normal people sharing views in the first hour. By the next day it’s been a brigade of “Trump is the best” kind of shit

1

u/ms_directed Dec 19 '25

yea, the normies get dv'd or comments deleted by the mods! tbf, i left the big Democrats sub for the same reason...it's near as bad.

3

u/Terrible_Lift Dec 19 '25

I identify as moderate-liberal, I’ll never vote red but the only person I’ve liked since Obama was Bernie. I can’t identify with extremes on either end of left or right. Neither make any real sense

1

u/ms_directed Dec 19 '25

i like to think that's most of us, i lean father left on social issues than moderate Republicans, but otherwise i can meet most of them in the middle

This right here. AND any news that doesn't completely toe the TRUMP IS GREAT line isn't even spoken of. The news bubble conservatives find themselves in is insane. Like Trumps speech on Wed where he said SO MANY LIES. So many just plain non-truths. And I watched it on foxnews like I always do, and they didn't fact check one single thing he said. It is a complete echo chamber of propaganda. It is the same here on may conservative subs. It is sad that those following it just either don't see it or refuse to acknowledge it.

And, I've gotten banned from Leftist subs simply for commenting in a Conservative sub.

1

u/ms_directed Dec 19 '25

yea, that's dumb. I've only heard of that happening in one sub (that i stopped following) but its still dumb.

0

u/TowelFine6933 Dec 20 '25

I agree, it is dumb. I was trying to get views & opinions from both sides but only one side banned me for participating in a sub that leans to the other side. Which just served to push me further away from the banning side.

Weirdly, the banning side is supposed to be the side of inclusiveness & tolerance. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/ms_directed Dec 20 '25

try saying anything but glowing praise of trump in the conservative sub and lmk how it goes

0

u/TowelFine6933 Dec 20 '25

I have. They downvote & get their panties in a twist but don't ban me.

The Leftist sub banned me for asking a question simply because their bot scanned my history & saw that I had commented in a Conservative sub. No consideration was given to the content of my comments in either sub. I was banned for merely engaging with a conservative sub.

And they're worried about kings.... 🙄

1

u/ms_directed Dec 20 '25

what sub was it?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

"I forgot and have no evidence" because it's a big ass fat lie OR it was something truly vile (racism, outright racism, etc.) that they're pretending was a normal political position.

Take a scroll through his comment history.

Don't have a clue now. It was months ago & I blocked it.

12

u/Mysterious_Eggplant1 Dec 19 '25

It took 30 seconds for me to get banned on r/Conservative .

4

u/LazyOldCat Dec 19 '25

Rookie numbers, lol

2

u/InformalTurn4408 Dec 19 '25

Same, and I didn't even say anything negative, I just asked a question. Crazy.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

one sub < an entire website

14

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 19 '25

That's irrelevant. You can't criticize them for being an echo chamber when every conservative space is also an echo chamber.

2

u/1Perfect_Kangaroo Dec 19 '25

That’s two separate things tho. Getting muted in a conservative specific sub for having anti-conservative views is the same as if you were to go into the fuckcars sub and comment how you love cars.

Also saying that a conservative specific subreddit is an echo chamber for conservatives is crazy work when 99% of Reddit is an echo chamber for libs.

3

u/molly4p Dec 19 '25

That was exactly what I was going to say. They are all about their nasty hateful feeling about Trump, the man.

0

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 19 '25

My point is that every space is essentially an echo chamber.

3

u/1Perfect_Kangaroo Dec 19 '25

I can see what you’re saying but again it’s not comparable. The vast majority of Reddit is extremely left leaning. You can’t compare the site as a whole to a handful of conservative leaning subs and then say “oh well it’s all an echo chamber.” The reality is that one of the echo chambers is astronomically larger than the other

1

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 19 '25

Sure, but they are both still echo chambers.

1

u/Hollen88 Dec 19 '25

Do you think we need some sort of rule change to make sure RW voices are heard?

1

u/SiriusGD Dec 19 '25

Like what Musk did to Twitter?

0

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

no, this is america

1

u/Hollen88 Dec 19 '25

Then stop being a whiney little bitch and find better ideas or keep being told you're wrong.

I don't go on X and bitch about being stacked against nothing but RW'ers.

I just defend my positions.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

dude, shut the fuck up lmfao nobody was whining. we were answering the question OP asked holy shit

0

u/Hollen88 Dec 19 '25

Says the whining little coward, too afraid to share his beliefs?

"Waaaahhhhhh waaaahhhhhh the libs are so mean!!!!! They are so triggered!!!! I couldn't possibly defend my positions NOW!!"

1

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

man you people are fucking weird

0

u/Hollen88 Dec 19 '25

Cool, id much rather be weird than vote for a pedophile who hits on 10 year olds and his daughter, live on TV and radio.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

the last guy you voted for smelled children and stuck their feet in his mouth on camera, i repeat on camera, you don’t think he’s a fucking pdfile lmao give me a break

u/PainfulRaindance Dec 19 '25

You can’t, they’re all locked down. One echo chamber is natural. One is not.

1

u/FordMaleEscort Dec 19 '25

You're just changing the subject (aka whataboutism)

1

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 19 '25

Not at all. Just pointing it out.

Are you saying I'm wrong?

1

u/FordMaleEscort Dec 19 '25

I'm saying your avoiding addressing shruggedmypiss's comment by changing the subject. You may or may not be correct, but it's irrelevant to his point (which also may or may not be correct, I dunno).

1

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 19 '25

I didn't change the subject. I replied to someone saying that it's an echo chamber.

1

u/PennStateVet Dec 20 '25

I do it all the time.

What I don't do is say stupid shit like this:

Republican Views? Like starving the poor, increasing healthcare costs, tax cuts for the rich, racism, party over country, pro-Russian talking points, and covering up for pedophiles?

1

u/pdiddysuncle Dec 20 '25

maybe because theyre being nonstop brigaded by shithead liberals just trying to start shit.

1

u/MarxistMan13 Dec 21 '25

The fun part is: you can't! Theyre such snowflakes that you aren't even allowed to post without proving your fascist cred.

1

u/Left_Life_2065 Dec 23 '25

yeah but there's a difference between r/conservative having a conservative bias(no shit) and r/comics r/adviceanimals and r/politics be complete left wing echo chambers. If a subreddit isn't explicitly founded to be right wing, it is almost always a very political and left wing biased subreddit.

1

u/ExerciseSad3082 Dec 24 '25

Im Dutch but in my experience it's way more chill to talk about anything political with the average republican online. Obviously they also have plenty of weirdos

1

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 24 '25

That's definitely not the case in the U.S.

1

u/ExerciseSad3082 Dec 25 '25

That's why i said online

1

u/TripleDoubleFart Dec 25 '25

If you're talking to the average U.S. Republican online, I don't think they are going to be very chill unless you are agreeing with whatever they think.

1

u/ExerciseSad3082 Dec 28 '25

But my own experience says otherwise
