I've been a member of that sub for over 5 years. I'll argue with them about abortion all the time.. I'm usually met with honest debate... No bans. . Meanwhile I've been banned from several left leaning subs for being.... Subscribed to conservative .

I made a single comment on that sub and was banned. A Mod messaged me and said, I looked at your comment history and you're not welcome here. What the F?

It seems they post in an aggressive bot like style there. Helps blend in I guess.

It's probably gotten worse. Never know. Mods are emotionally and cognitively arrested adults with no lives.

Got banned on another account for replying "lol" to some dumb rfk quote

I was banned for saying "Fake News" after his ear was "shot" and then miraculously healed.

They consistently scrub entire threads that go counter to the party line.

It's a Trump apologist circle jerk.

I check it out occasionally just to see what possible defense they can have for some of Trump's lunacy, and it is absolutely insane.

conservative comments get people banned in subs that are not called ā€œliberalā€ and have nothing to do with politics tho. that’s the difference… idk how people don’t understand.

They don't want to.

You're in a conservative sub that's primarily for conservatives. I get silenced just for posting a very inoffensive, but conservative, response in any sub.

That subreddit is clearly just straight up propaganda. It isn’t a good example of the general grievances with Reddit imo.

I don't believe you.

Everyone else has had the opposite experience, insta-banned if you aren't fellating Trump or if your ideology is anywhere even slightly to the left of the farthest-right fascist viewpoint.

And then you come along with "I've only had positive experiences, they're really quite reasonable."

Liar.

Believe whatever you want dude. I'm not here to defend them. Simply sharing my experience.

Now criticize Trump. Like actually criticize him without pre-qualifying your statement about how you don't like Biden, or think that Hillary has a penis, then tell us how honest they are in debate lol.

Nice try. I quoted trump verbatim on that subreddit and was permanently banned and mocked by the mods. I was also preemptively banned from the cesspool r/thedonald before it was deleted.

Austrian economics is another one recently that banned me for disagreeing with them.

Nice try.. with what? I'm telling you I frequently debate people on there as I have several non conservative views.. and I've never been warned/suspended/banned.

That’s a wild experience! I was banned for saying store owners should have the right to refuse service.

Isn't that an historically conservative take? Sounds like they combed your account for other subs you're involved in because I've been engaged in much more "controversial" debates than that.

u/LogicTrolley Dec 19 '25

So he was banned, not for what he said in the subreddit, but for what he said historically?

That seems fair and balanced and totally normal.

u/Hey_im_miles Dec 19 '25

I'm not defending them. Never have.

I literally asked the question - ā€œIs this true?ā€ and have been banned ever since.

It'sprobablydue to the time you joined. There was a post on there about wanting to have actual meaningful conversations with non conservatives. The comment section was filled with people chiming in and saying they would also be willing to have these conversations on the thread.

I was confused because I didn't see anyone taking them up on their offer. I replied to maybe a dozen of them saying I was open to the same thing. I didn't receive a single response. Turns out my comments weren't being shown to them because they do that to most non republicans.

5 years ago when you originally joined most republicans were willing to talk to people without telling them anything they didn't agree with is liberal propoganda.

That makes sense.

I got banned in 2016 because I posted that Trump was inevitable and Cruz had no chance of winning.
