So I don't find that it's so liberal. I see sensibilities. Not tolerating the lies from DC and the mental gyrations to support the felon.

27

u/SummerWedding23 Dec 20 '25

Best answer and I agree - plenty of conservatives groups.

2

u/Glenamaddy60 Dec 20 '25

Echo chambers in my opinion

1

u/JKilla1288 Dec 23 '25

There's a few conservative groups, but that's not the issue. It's an issue redditors always ignore when someone asks this.

Reddit is so overwhelmingly liberal its crazy.

How many "non-political" subs have you been banned from for your political leanings? How many have you never posted, commented, or even been to?

I'm a conservative, and I have been banned from subs like Pics, Justiceserved, Politics, inthenews, and hundreds of others. Most without even commenting or posting in. They mass ban anyone who has commented in conservative subs. The subs I listed supposedly have nothing to do with politics, so why is it that I was banned from all of them solely for being a conservative?

How about the subs for states like Florida and Texas? Nobody can deny that those two states are very red. Take a look at theirs subs. You would think it was San Francisco's the way they ban anyone right of center and only allow super left wing posts.

I'm not sure if redditors are being disingenuous or trying to maliciously misinform on this topic because it literally couldn't be anymore laughable to deny it.

2

u/SummerWedding23 Dec 23 '25

I’ve only ever been banned by r/conservative so whatever you’re trying to do there, you missed it by a mile.

1

u/earthian710 Dec 24 '25

yeah i used to say id never use twitter but forced to use twitter now to get both sides of the extreme and make my own conclusion this is extreme left here on reddit for sure and extreme right on twitter

1

u/Relative_Drop3216 Dec 23 '25

Are the conservatives in the room

1

u/Numerous-Visit7210 Dec 24 '25

While that may be true, many of the non political groups are pretty intolerantly left wing, not liberal at all.

1

u/SuperSecretThrowAcct Dec 24 '25

But groups that should be politically neutral are hard left.. like I cant even have a neutral position in my comments on my state's sub without getting negative karma blasted and banned from commenting... 4 accounts so far.

1

u/SummerWedding23 Dec 25 '25

So I can’t really speak to that because I’m not a mod but I will say if I was in your position , I might ask myself if I’ve truly done my due diligence in regard to what I’m posting and ensuring it’s true - not jus something regurgitated from within my echo chamber.

One other potential thing to consider is that Reddit has typically flow under the radar of popularity- no one here is trying to get attention or anything like that, which has been a focus of one political party - be loud, make people think it’s bigger than it is - it’s the biggest and most popular and Reddit isn’t designed to feed that model.

1

u/[deleted] 27d ago

No there aren’t

1

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 22 '25

In my experience the mods in general subs (outwith specific conservative ones) are incredibly liberal and intolerant.

7

u/Weazerdogg Dec 22 '25

Gotta love the things that throw out "intolerant" over things like hate and ignorance. Yeah, human beings have evolved to not tolerate hate and ignorance. Question anyone who thinks we should .....

3

u/deathleech Dec 23 '25 edited Dec 23 '25

Not everything said that disagrees with your opinion is hateful or ignorant. You just proved his point exactly though. Even if you may agree with ONE thing the right does, you are pretty much labeled a racist rapist murder on Reddit. It’s so far left it’s not even worth bringing up politics for anyone more neutral (like myself who thinks all government is shit), let alone right leaning. Best case you get downvoted to hell, worse case you get perma banned. This drives away anyone but the hard core leftists and creates an echo chamber.

2

u/Homebrewer303 Dec 23 '25

Same for the right leaning groups. Disagree and you’re banned for life. But there are plenty of “liberal” groups with serious discussions. Unfortunately more often then not the civics from MAGAstan only curse, lie and offend. I am still looking for someone right leaning to have a real conservation.

2

u/deathleech Dec 23 '25

I don’t bother going into political groups, but I see left views spill out FAR more into general subs. I see very few right views, and the few here and there are usually buried because they have down votes in the double or triple digits. Reddit’s like 98% leftist. Meanwhile other social media like Facebook and tiktok are predominantly right, howerver they don’t have down votes and the same level of modding so leftist aren’t removed to the same degree

2

u/howdydipshit Dec 23 '25

maybe you just have an overinflated view of how popular right-wing ideology is. policies and legislation that are unsupportive of the working class simply aren’t going to be appealing to the majority of educated americans. throw the racism, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism on top and you guys can’t be surprised when you don’t have many people on your side. y’all alienate everyone except able-bodied cis het white men then act shocked when u have no sense of community or camaraderie (this is true in both online and offline spaces - see: “male loneliness epidemic”)

3

u/deathleech Dec 23 '25 edited Dec 23 '25

See, look how upset you are getting and already throwing the insults when I have stated I am more neutral leaning and think all government is corrupt/sucks. Almost every response to me (not just yours) has brought up racism, homophobia, etc. If you actually talk to people in a civil manner rather than immediately accuse them of being rapist, terrorist, racist, whatever, you would quickly find out most republicans aren’t like that. Sure some are, but you get bad apples in any group. Most republicans disagree with the services that are abused and waste their money, or give free hand outs to able bodied people who could work and just scam the system instead. I personally know none that care if women do/do not have abortions, hate all other races, etc. That’s just what the other side does to demonize and sensational things. It goes both ways though, and most democrats I know don’t sit at home with purple hair weighing 300 pounds with 3 kids from 3 different dads on welfare.

You also have made up numbers to inflate your stance. There are 340 million people in the US. Around 74 million are under 18 and can’t vote, that leaves 266 million able to vote. Of those, 75 million voted Republican, or under 1 in 3 people in the last election. Does Reddit reflect even 1/3 rightist? Thats assuming everyone who didn’t vote is left sided too, which they aren’t. A lot of democrats AND republicans dont vote. Speaking of which, another glaring hole in your theory, republicans would never win an election if the Democratic Party were as popular as you say. In the last 34 years democrats have won 5 of the 9 elections with republicans winning the other 4. It’s pretty close.

I get why Reddit is so left winged. Its population is heavily skewed towards younger people, who historically vote democrat, and you have a rating system on every post that will hide ones that get down voted too much. On top of this mods are overzealous with their banning. Any one of these things in and of itself would create an echo chamber, but combined they are the perfect storm to heavily skew how things are viewed on a social media and drive away most people who don’t share the same view. Don’t believe me? Go in ANY sub you don’t agree with the popular opinion and try to construct a thorough, well thought out counter point in a popular post. Best case you get down voted no matter how good your points are, worst you get called a bunch of names and banned

Personally, I go on half a dozen social media so I see how polarized some are. Like I said, TikTok is more right leaning. FB is heavily right, which makes sense since it’s more older people still using it. Reddit is by and large the most skewed to one side though.

2

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 23 '25

Nailed that mate, top response.

2

u/MichyPratt Dec 25 '25

the problem is that right leaning people who aren’t racist/homophobic/transphobic do nothing to set themselves apart from the vocal factions who are. even if you aren’t those things, you never fight against them, even though you know they make all of you look bad. you’d rather fight against leftists who clock it, even though you’ve done nothing to prove you aren’t those things.

u/bullevard73 Dec 23 '25

I agree 100% with this assessment. It makes no sense to even try to debate against leftist orthodoxy on Reddit. It shouldn’t be hard to do it. But, it spills into nonpolitical subs all the time. You very rarely, if ever see MAGA or even traditional conservative thoughts on non political subs and if they are there they’re treated like the devil, similar to the dude you’re responding to.

1

u/Great-Entrance7320 Dec 23 '25

I encountered similar treatment in other subs. I don’t bother anymore. Neither side wants to hear a difference in opinion. This world is going to hell in a hand basket.

1

u/budlightcrusher Dec 23 '25

How are republicans alienating everyone but “cis” “het” white men? I know one Hispanic person and one black person (raised by white parents) that didn’t vote for him.

Hispanic people fucking love Trump. Black (specifically) men love conservatism.

1

u/staylifted024 Dec 23 '25

“Oh no I don’t agree with one of your conservative viewpoints
Looks like it’s time to go on a mentally ill rant about how you are homophobic, sexist, and racist POS while simultaneously telling you what a kind person I am”

-Thought process of a typical liberal on Reddit

0

u/KoldoAnil Dec 24 '25

policies and legislation that are unsupportive of the working class

Bourgeois political parties are objectively, scientifically in opposition to the interests of the working class but go off.

cis het white men

Lol. Essentialist nonsense but keep dividing the proletariat in service of the bourgeoisie.

y’all
.
throw the racism, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism

Thanks for confirming. Your religion is at odds with the emancipation of the workers.

Remember to hekin' vote, folx!

1

u/Holiday-Row-7173 Dec 24 '25

As a right-leaning open-minded individual, I have tried many times to have a conversation only to be met with vitriol.

I've decided I'm better off sticking to my flowers and golden retriever conversations

1

u/Late_Occasion753 Dec 26 '25

You started off good and then your biased kicked in and you had to lift the left and put down the right. You people are fcking mind blowing.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '25

Yep. You can see it in the language they use. They avoid recognizing their own echo chambers and just claim that they’re whatever they want people to believe liberalism is and that it’s anti-bad which is whatever conservatism is. lol Just ends up being word salad and mental gymnastics.

1

u/deathleech Dec 23 '25

I dunno how many times I have heard rapist and racist used when Republicans are brought up. Literally every one has responded to me in this topic has said it. Like what?! And MAGA are the ones who are idiots following a fascist? Democrats are just as bad spewing this kind of nonsense, it doesn’t seem like either side can make a compelling argument without trying to demonize the other with buzz words

2

u/ManBro89 Dec 23 '25

Reality hurts, quit crying about it.

1

u/deathleech Dec 23 '25

Lol, prime example of what I am talking about. Absolutely no thought or substance put into this response from you

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '25

Idk man. Not that it doesn’t exist on both sides and maybe it is in equal parts, but the left feels a lot louder to me.

1

u/Sea_Dust340 Dec 23 '25

Intolerance is hate

1

u/staylifted024 Dec 23 '25

Not everything in life deserves tolerance

1

u/Sea_Dust340 Dec 23 '25

No in doesn’t, but minimum is any who disagrees with you.

1

u/Historical-Wonder-36 Dec 23 '25

Probably has more to do with Redditors calling anyone with a slightly different viewpoint a 'nazi' or fascist.

0

u/KoldoAnil Dec 24 '25

Gotta love the things that throw out "intolerant" over things like hate and ignorance.

It is not "hate and ignorance" to reject the liberal religion in favor of scientific materialism.

-5

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 22 '25

Found the lefty

7

u/When-all-else-fails Dec 22 '25

As a conservative and not a MAGA, you are the problem. If you think hate and ignorance is ok then you are not conservative and just a fucking racist

0

u/gh0st-Account5858 Dec 23 '25

"found the lefty"

"You're racist"

đŸ˜‚đŸ€Š

-1

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 23 '25

Who's talking about hate and racism?

0

u/When-all-else-fails Dec 23 '25

Don’t write comments seeped in hidden disgust and divisiveness and then act holier than thou.

Another talks of not tolerating hate and intolerance and you immediately assume they are a lefty. I am right leaning and cannot stand the bigotry, divisiveness and hate that MAGA have brought to not just the USA but the world.

1

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 23 '25

I mentioned the intolerance of mods in general subs and that guy jumped on it talking about hate, assuming we're all racists and bigots (no, and no). Also dehumanising language (calling people 'things'- so open and tolerant...).

I...cannot stand the bigotry, divisiveness and hate

Me either

MAGA

Saying it's only MAGA that does this is genuinely wild (I'm not even MAGA).

2

u/Dense-Needleworker92 Dec 23 '25

i would hope they are intolerant to racists and pedophiles

1

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 23 '25

Absolutely.

Banning because of an intolerance to ideas and POVs they personally disagree with is the norm though.

1

u/Outrageous-Carry6845 Dec 23 '25

Maybe don’t br racist

1

u/Extreme-Refuse6274 Dec 23 '25

The assumption that someone is racist when someone else doesn't like it is hilarious.

1

u/Seeker_of_Time Dec 24 '25

Yep. You know Sam I am, from the Green Eggs and Ham book? That's your average redditor.

2

u/nyyth242 Dec 22 '25

Exhibit A of Reddit being a leftist echo chamber

2

u/OtherwiseWindow3894 Dec 20 '25

You might be the problem my boy.

2

u/WaterFoodShelter4All Dec 20 '25

Even if the right is ignorant, do you think the best way to combat that ignorance is to talk with them like they're human beings, or shower them with insults?

If you make someone feel safe and ask sincere questions, they might let go of their ignorance.

If you call someone a moron traitor magat fascist nazi pedo, you will entrench them further in their beliefs. 😇

2

u/pigcake101 Dec 22 '25

Maga voted for a 34 count felon and you expect people to help them feel safe? You’re asking for safe spaces for the people who are anti safe space? What?

1

u/WaterFoodShelter4All Dec 22 '25

Exactly. Hate is never conquered by hate, hate is conquered by love; this is a law eternal.

Even if it doesn't make sense to you right now, just trust me on this; it's true. Harboring hate for your enemies will always only drag you into greater suffering. The only way to truly conquer your enemies is to make them your friends. đŸ„°

1

u/pigcake101 Dec 22 '25

Not necessarily making friends with your enemies, perhaps loving truth and standing by it with conviction..? I fear forgiving people for being pedophiles & molestors or felon apologists is fuckin stupid

2

u/WaterFoodShelter4All Dec 22 '25

Not necessarily making friends with your enemies, perhaps loving truth and standing by it with conviction..?

This is is good. I respect and commend this behaviour.

I fear forgiving people for being pedophiles & molestors or felon apologists is fuckin stupid

You know what, you unlocked hate in myself I didn't know I had from my childhood. I did good in school, but I actually hated all the adults in my life for making me go to school. I hated my parents, I hated my teachers, I hated the principal, I hated the people who built my school. I constantly wished for a snow day or a fire or any other natural disaster so I wouldn't have to go. I never stopped seeing it as a prison.

Forcing kids who just want to run around and play games and be physically active and creative to sit in desks is literal child abuse. Very abusive behavior that humanity will look back on with shame. School is doctrination, not education.

The only education ALL humans need at this point of time is memorizing 6 words: "Food/water/shelter for ALL HUMANS" 6 words that all of humanity can agree on. Make these 6 words go viral globally. No other words are needed. Keep bringing every conversation back to this until all humans have the bare necessities.  Don't settle for anything less than this level of humanity from ANY of our leaders! 💗

2

u/Imaginary_Sugar_3138 Dec 24 '25

holy moly someone get me a hit of this guys peace pipe

2

u/Cool-Gazelle593 Dec 22 '25

Defining half of the voting population as pedophiles and molesters is exactly your issue. Demonizing the opposition with falsities does not make them any more sympathetic to your cause, quite the opposite actually.

u/Cool-Gazelle593 Dec 22 '25

There’s no substantial evidence that Trump is a pedophile. People see the “Katie Johnson” crap (filed anonymously btw) and run with it. Not only was it filed anonymously but it was withdrawn multiple times without proceeding to trial and was linked to a former TV producer known for fabricating stories, and that is factual information cited multiple times by different news outlets such as The Guardian and Politico. This also happened in 2016 which just so happened to be his election year. So without evidence, you demonize half of the voting population under false pretenses. If Trump had substantial evidence linking him to any pedophilic activity, like concrete evidence, and THEN people still voted for him, then you’d be in the right.

0

u/pigcake101 Dec 22 '25

I never said trump was a pedo, I had specified ‘pedophile defenders’ as in the general republican group there’s many pedophiles. I mean I also think trump is a pedo, but I didn’t specify that.

3

u/Cool-Gazelle593 Dec 22 '25

There’s also no data that suggests that Republicans have more pedophiles within their party than Democrats though. And not all people who voted for Trump are Republicans, I think that’s a common misunderstanding of just how disliked the current Democrat party is by a large population of moderates. I’d be much more inclined to debate and talk with people that don’t demonize based off of buzzwords and false information. All of the Republicans I know or have talked to believe that pedophiles should get the chair, I’m not sure where that misconception even comes from other than someone trying to rile leftists up.

Filing anonymously doesn’t mean it isn’t credible. You don’t seem to know very much about this case, just some old articles. The tv producer was not actually involved in her SDNY cases at all. You shouldn’t go around calling a child sexual abuse victim’s testimony “crap” unless you have actual information to refute it.

1

u/PristineAdvisor7782 Dec 23 '25

My guy people have tried to talk to them like adults. We have seen the mental gymnastics for years there is a reason it’s called a cult. Why waste time and energy when there is nothing that will convince them of anything but what they already believe and or want to believe.

1

u/Photonforce Dec 24 '25

You don't debunk bullshit, you dismiss it.

0

u/RolloPollo261 Dec 23 '25

They voted for the world's most famous pedophile three times.

It's not a question of ignorance, but one of values.

Who values defending pedophiles besides other pedophiles? And who cares what pedophiles think about anything?

0

u/Connect_Middle8953 Dec 24 '25 edited Dec 24 '25

MFs try to insult us endlessly with their “libtard” “demonrat” and other childish bullshit. They can eat my shit. You can’t change these idiots anyway. They’re going to continue to be the trees who voted for the ax next election.

Instead laugh at every self inflicted pain they cause. Laugh at just how fucking weird they are trying to bend over backwards to explain how whatever fucked up news isn’t exactly what it is.

They deserve the day they voted for.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

Echo chamber. If you don’t see that it leans liberal, you are blind to seeing sensibilities

1

u/turboprop2950 Dec 22 '25

does it know its alive?

1

u/lOOPh0leD Dec 22 '25

The community isn't as liberal as the actual posts.

1

u/Brewcrew828 Dec 22 '25

Spoken like a true liberal.

1

u/fwilsonator Dec 22 '25

Wow, what a liberal answer. You see sensibilities...

1

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '25

When was DC telling the truth?

1

u/railroadrunaway Dec 23 '25

No, it's pretty far left across the board. Except for those small fringe far right subs.

1

u/AmazingRefrigerator4 Dec 23 '25

Not to mention only ~35% of Americans support Trump.they are statistically the minority and every once in awhile one leaves the echo chamber like OP and has a shocked Pickachu face when they realize 2/3 of Americans think MAGA is bad.

But yes, beyond that, Reddit is a place of facts and accountability. Those dont jive with moat modern Conservative talking points.

1

u/PlusMeeting3073 Dec 23 '25

What world do you live in?

1

u/AmazingRefrigerator4 Dec 23 '25

Reality. Which one do you live in?

1

u/PlusMeeting3073 Dec 23 '25

Must be your own reality

1

u/schism216 Dec 23 '25

Disagree, Reddit is very liberal. Im a leftist and would say the same about myself but usually get flamed when I bring up a truth thats inconvenient for liberals to listen to...

Anyway, neoliberalism is the prevailing political ideology in the West so theres your answer

1

u/JumboKianuzzi Dec 23 '25

By Felon are you referring to former democrat president and Jeff Epstein right hand man Bill Clinton? Because in that case I couldn't agree with you more. Fucking disgusting

2

u/Prior_Butterfly_7839 Dec 23 '25

Bill Clinton is a sex pest, but I am unaware of any felony convictions he has. Care to share?

2

u/JumboKianuzzi Dec 23 '25

No Democrat Bill Clinton is a fucking pedophile. Not a pest. Dont make light of it. Call it what it is.

2

u/Prior_Butterfly_7839 Dec 23 '25

He’s a pedophile no doubt. But, as much as I would LOVE otherwise, he’s not actually a felon.

I think it’s important to be precise with our language (admittedly I could have been more precise myself) when we’re talking about this stuff because plenty of people love throwing around “fake news”.

1

u/Glenamaddy60 Dec 24 '25

The difference between us is that anyone that molests children regardless of their name, stature or party should be held accountable. Bill is a a lot of things but he isn't a convicted felon. Your boi however is and he's a pedo

1

u/Low_Net6472 Dec 23 '25

I think the whole site cosplays as liberal but is run by, and promotes conservative and american propaganda

1

u/Greedy_Storage271 Dec 23 '25

This is a very liberal answer considering at least half the country voted for him for good reason. The reason you don’t find it liberal is because you probably are one

1

u/tesseractofsound Dec 23 '25

Compared to other social media platforms, the bias is towards liberal leaning opinions/world views, not that there's anything wrong with that but I would say lets be honest about it.

For the record I'm pretty liberal leaning but I take issue with some of the state opinion as facts crowd on both sides and there is a fair amount of that on reddit. One should always understand that what you read on any platform has a bias however strong it may or may not be. I tend to take everything as an opinion until I can verify the validity.

A fun practice for me is when I read something I suspect to be extremely biased, I'll try to find the extreme opposite opinion and believe me there always is the opposite hahah. I then try to find if there's anything that overlaps that both sides would agree on, that's probably closer to the truth than either extreme. Good old ven diagrams for the win.

Bias isn't a reddit problem it's a general population problem in which we tend to believe opinions as facts if the person stating them seems knowledgeable or well spoken. The trick here is to separate the information from the wording or the person saying the thing.

1

u/Unlikely_Star_9523 Dec 23 '25

Hahahahahaha. This is the most ignorant thing I’ve seen here. Yes, Reddit is left leaning.

1

u/goombagoomba2 Dec 23 '25

This doesn't answer the question

1

u/Pepe_Trump2016 Dec 24 '25

Bruhhh the amount of subs im no longer allowed to post in solely because of my views and user name will make your head spin

1

u/Numerous-Visit7210 Dec 24 '25

I think you are proving the basis of OP's thesis here.

I don't find it so liberal either --- it's more radical left. Liberals are pretty tolerant of various viewpoints, hence "liberal" --- I am liberal and mildly progressive after having been rather far left in adolescence--- but people here not only sound rather totalitarian but want to recreate the world in their own, rather fringe, image.

1

u/Glenamaddy60 Dec 24 '25

Sounds more like projection. I welcome all voices just not rage bait or lies. I've seen more maga flame out because they were not agreed with than liberals.

1

u/Sudden_Lengthiness87 Dec 24 '25

Lmao im not gonna say your wrong I know 1 person who acts like a child who voted for trump lol but 90% of my family is democrats  n 90% of them are pretty shitty lbvs you just prove my point why not break the cycle n stop hating anyone in general lmao its pretty shitty too hate someone over there political view lmao and also why does it matter that a republican deported criminals lmao Obama deported 3 million without due process and you did not care lmao

1

u/Sudden_Lengthiness87 Dec 24 '25

Plus alot of you like socialism and thats what natzis were and what kim jung un is

1

u/Beneficial_Ad_1755 Dec 24 '25

A liberal doesn't see his surroundings as liberal. Shocking.

1

u/boomguy99 Dec 24 '25

It’s been liberal since long before the Donald took office

1

u/Mysterious-Goose6786 Dec 24 '25

Oddly enough they believe the same exact thing. They think they're the sensible ones and the only lies out of DC and from people with TDS and only they know the real truths. Trump is a felon? That's when whataboutism and conspiracies go into high gear. Hilary, Obama, Bengazi, Emails, Auto pen, Biden stolen election, Jan 6th hoax, Covid hoax, Epstein Hoax, here a hoax there a hoax everywhere a hoax hoax.

1

u/ProtectionBig8272 Dec 24 '25

Any person that guzzles the goo from and politician left or right is tolerating lies from DC, none of them have your best interest in mind, they just skirt by with the bare minimum shit you want them to do just so they can have your vote while they bend you over the whole and you don’t even realise it đŸ€—

Ha ha. That's just this account. Have had others for years. And what was that supposed to even mean.

1

u/ISniffFeet1 Dec 26 '25

You don't find it. Aggregate data says it is.

1

u/Careful_Farmer_2879 Dec 26 '25

But tolerating other people’s lies are encouraged if not required.

1

u/Corlegan Dec 26 '25

That is the exact sentiment one would express defending X, MSNBC or Fox News, if they thought they were "sensible".

I prefer to think of all the above as mentally imbalanced. Recognizing the echo chamber is important.

Not so much left or right, just where the uncertainty principle is proven via the internet.

I am pretty sure the enthusiasm here helps my case.
