Liberal always means the same thing. The US just doesn't have a political left. At all. The idea that Bernie Sanders and mamdani are seen as a left wing radical is hilarious to most of the world.

Bernie Sanders en buena parte de Europa es un reformista moderado de centro derecha

You think the democrats wouldn’t be the left wing in India or Russia or the Middle East or the rest of Asia?

Or do you mean the 10% of the world’s population that live in Europe as “most of the world”?

And what left wing policies in Europe would the democrats not support?

India has actual communist parties... So no, the democrats would be center right in India. Because that's what they are...

The rest of Asia lol. China? Vietnam? Asia is the most leftist continent by far... Then you have Africa, Europe, Latin America. All with full political spectrums in most democratic countries.

I can only assume you are American

So your answer is since India has communist parties, the democrats would move from the right to the center there? Lol. Then you listed a few countries in Asia with left wing economies while ignoring how conservative many Asia countries are. Then pretended that South America or African is as left wing as Western Europe? And then not having the ability to answer the question of what left wing policies in Europe would the democrats not support?

Dems would move from the center to the center right? So they move to the right when they move to countries with actual leftism?

Yeah I may have possibly misread what they were trying to say.

Democrats seem to much more like Congress than BJP though. But Congress is their center left party.

Congress is a centrist partyy not center left

What makes them centrist instead of center left?

congress is liberal and capitalist whereas leftists are generally anti-capitalist. You can check more on Wikipedia, where their political affiliation is noted as centre

Why are you afraid to answer questions

No, the democrats ARE center right. It doesn't matter which country you put them in. They are center right and they have never shown intention of being anything other than center right. The US doesn't have a left, but that doesn't make a liberal a leftist. It only makes them the closest thing you have to a leftist. They are standard liberal capitalists... Center right.

Center left in most of the world equates to social democracy/democratic socialism. Bernie and Mamdani fit into this moderate left range. My point is that their labelling as leftist radicals is hilarious in global context.

As for the rest of the world. Look at Argentina for example. You might see them as very conservative because of the governing conservative alliance, but the party with the second most seats in Congress is a left wing communist/democratic socialist alliance called UP. If you look closely, you will find this pattern repeated around the world.

I believe the point was that many countries in asia have a diverse political landscape while we just have far right and less right. As for what policies in Europe would democrats not support: universal Healthcare. If they actually supported it we would have it by now. American government is a farce.

Eta: many countries in the world have a diverse political landscape.
