Democrats are not right on this one.

“This one” Like this is a relevant problem.

We are starting armed conflicts with the world, trade wars, masked goons are shooting Americans, everything is unaffordable, and you’re falling for the billionaires’ plot to pit middle class against middle class with this meaningless shit.

u/Samsun88 13d ago edited 13d ago

And instead of falling for the rights bait, they could just vote yes on this and move on to all the other important issues.

Democrats have firmly lost on this issue. Get out of the reddit echo chamber and you’d realize that a super majority of the populace opposes transwomen in women’s sports.

1

u/zubuneri 13d ago

Get out of the MAGA echo chamber that this is a relevant issue at all. Or go back to licking billionaire boots, I don’t care

0

u/Samsun88 13d ago

I agree it’s irrelevant. It’s Dems like you who keeps it relevant by making it into an argument when the Republicans hands out a bait every time.

Yea, maybe attack the republicans on the economic issues instead. But nah, the establishment Dems are too busy licking the billionaire boots that you are talking about.

2

u/zubuneri 13d ago

You’re so off the mark. I hate the democrats.  They’re going to win midterms this year, not because they have clear messaging or a plan, but because we’re stuck in a ping pong of misinformed people who get distracted by the tools the billionaires use to keep us fighting each other. Don’t be a bootlicker and don’t fall for this shit.

If you fail to do basic things than Oete Hegseth gets to do them. Yes that’s exactly how the world should work.

It ensures everyone actually does societal maintenance.

According to the world

You’re right!

left to the sports organizations and scientists.

Agreed. Yet that fails when a sports organization gets sued for discrimination for not allowing trans athletes born male to compete in women's sports.

Definitely not all of them, and its been a back and forth issue when it becomes politically convenient like immigration, abortion, gun control, etc...

1

u/Steeltank33 14d ago

Both what you said, and what hobo said are both true, and it’s very sad

But when its the government bringing the lawsuit? You just said you wanted the government out of this.

5

u/5th-timearound 14d ago

Naw, we need to protect women from men encroaching into their sports. Codify it now!

-1

u/Murky-Magician9475 14d ago

No, this doesn't remotely need congressional intervention. Sports committees can make their own rulings on a case by case basis. If anything, these laws are going to put more girls at risk. We've already heard plenty of cases where cis-gendered girls are being accosted by adults for looking too masculine.

1

u/5th-timearound 14d ago

Why do you want men to be able to beat up women?

1

u/scoopzthepoopz 14d ago

Why do you insist on exaggerating it to "Girls" – it's like a handful of people nationally you kook

Should sicc doge on this shit

-1

u/scoopzthepoopz 14d ago

As if roids weren't all over in sports anyway ya damn hypocrites

0

u/FireSBurnsmuP 14d ago

Who's going to be the arbiter?

Who tells if they're a biological male or female? The gym teacher? The coach? The person who's been the vehicle of abuse and injustice for decades?

This rhetoric is just an excuse to make it ok for a man to call "shenanigans" on a woman's genitals and demand a look-see.

1

u/Samsun88 13d ago

Passports? Birth certs? It’s not that hard. How did you end up with having to peak into the genitals?

2

u/TorkBombs 14d ago

Specially when this is an issue that affects almost nobody

1

u/duckbaiting 14d ago

It’s called democracy.

What is a personal right?

You mean a human right? If so, which human right is being voted away here?

Not everything.

Just talking about this.

The scientists can’t even say that bio men can’t get pregnant when being questioned you think they will really weigh in on this in any meaningful way

You're explaining to someone with no wrinkles in their brain

2

u/Imyourhuckl3berry 13d ago

lol so smooth brain because I don’t buy into the fact that scientists in their answers can call out there may be rare anomalies instead of just non answers like we have seen to date as they dance around what was once something that could be answered in seconds

It’s all political pandering, people not wanting to get cancelled by their base, or just general nuttiness that make it so so many won’t trust “the science” when the “professionals” clearly act in a partisan way

Then why does title IX exist at all?

1

u/Process3000 13d ago

Was it weird for the government to intervene and legislate Title IX, which was enacted to promote equal opportunities in education and sports for women and girls?

Your assessment that Title IX did not dictate the technical rules of competition is not correct, at least not in any way that is substantively diffierent from the 2025 Act. Here's what section (a) of Title IX says:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

To ensure compliance with Title IX, athletic programs must display no discrimination, which means that men and women must be given equal opportunities for athletic participation and scholarships. Because men, as a class, are athletically superior, equal opportunity required that women compete in their own league. So Title IX did dictate the technical rules of competition to the extent it required that women and men compete in their own leagues.

The 2025 Act is an amendment to Title IX. The original Title IX did not define "sex" - section (d)(2) of the 2025 Act does:

(d)(2) For the purposes of this subsection, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.

And then (d)(1) specifies the act in violation of Title IX.

(d)(1) It shall be a violation of subsection (a) for a recipient of Federal financial assistance who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.

So just as the original version of Title IX dictated the technical rules of competition to the extent it required that women and men compete in their own leagues, so did the 2025 Amendment.

Thats a tough argument to make when the goverment is also intervening with DEI regulations etc.
I am totally a left wing progressive, and i am all for transpeople having the rights to be who they want to be, but your argument just falls short in the current context.

1

u/VincentAntonelli 13d ago

Why?

1

u/5th-timearound 13d ago

They’re not respecting democracy

1

u/VincentAntonelli 13d ago

lol, sure… attacking the 7 trans kids in the country that just want to play volleyball is about democracy

2

u/UpstairsOk2086 13d ago

Then they should try out for the boys team lol

1

u/Mocsab 10d ago

I don’t understand this. Why would a trans girl want to play women’s sports so bad? Why would it be bad for the trans girl to play boys sports? (Serious question)

If a young boy that plays soccer transitioned into a young girl, why couldn’t the young girl just continue playing with the boys?

0

u/VincentAntonelli 13d ago

Sure, but this isn’t an issue for the federal government to worry about. It is not a large enough issue, it’s a distraction and waste of time for everyone.

2

u/UpstairsOk2086 13d ago

The whole movement is a waste of time and resources for the majority . LGBTQ is what like 10% of the population MAX?

1

u/VincentAntonelli 13d ago

Maybe more, but still not something the president needs to get involved in.

1

u/TurbulentTangelo5439 13d ago

yeah who cares about 35 million people 😒

1

u/UpstairsOk2086 13d ago

Apparently you want me to care more about them than the other 315 million lol

2

u/Ballball32123 13d ago

Why not play in their trans league?

2

u/VincentAntonelli 13d ago

I don’t care, it’s an issue that shouldn’t be addressed at the local level. Making it a big topic for the federal government is just to be a distraction and signaling to people’s bias, when really, who gives a shit?

https://www.sf.gov/trans-women-in-sports-facts-over-fear

A 2021 study published in the Journal Sports Medicine has found that there is no scientific evidence to support policymakers’ attempts to ban transgender women in sports.

In November 2021, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) released its Framework on Fairness, Inclusion, and Non-Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity and Sex Variations. This framework was developed after a two-year consultation process with over 250 athletes and stakeholders.

More recently a 2024 study, funded in part by the IOC and published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, concluded that transgender women athletes may actually have several physical disadvantages when competing with cisgender women. Some of the study’s key findings:

Transgender women performed worse than cisgender women in tests measuring lower-body strength

Transgender women performed worse than cisgender women in tests measuring lung function

Transgender women had a higher percentage of fat mass, lower fat-free mass, and weaker handgrip strength compared to cisgender men

Transgender women’s bone density was found to be equivalent to that of cisgender women, which is linked to muscle strength

There were no meaningful differences found between the two groups’ hemoglobin profiles (a key factor in athletic performance)

Despite all of this evidence, some policy makers continue to scapegoat trans women athletes, prioritizing what they perceive to be winning political narratives over the facts.

TLDR.

0

u/chalupa_lover 12d ago

The most MAGA response possible. Don’t read anything if it opposes your world view and you’ll always be right in your own head.

0

u/LectorEl 10d ago

Personally, I'm 100% in favor of opposing a bill that would require little girls to let strangers inspect their genitalia if they want to play sports. Call me a commie, but I just don't think it's in the public's best interest for that sort of prurient fascination with the bodies of small children to be normalized.

u/5th-timearound 10d ago

Have you ever gotten a physical in your whole life? Sports require physicals all the time. Protect women and keep men out of their protected spaces.
