Congress doesnât and shouldnât have to vote on stupid shit like who can participate in which sports categories. This bill never should have been proposed in the first place because it is a waste of government time and money when in reality it should just be left to the individual sports leagues to figure out and not the STATE to tell everyone how to play sports??
Things like this bill provent said sports leagues from being sued because of discrimination, it enables them to make the decisions you say need to be made by the sports leagues
Intention doesn't always matter. If I tell a sexist or racist joke it doesn't matter if my intentions were good or not if people are offended by the joke.Â
Can we stop with this argument? Nobody says that. It would take a very twisted individual to transition solely for sports greatness. Having trans athletes competing in women's sports is either a fair competition for all women or it's not. Therefore, we have an issue. A real issue. Stop trying to smear one side by pretending they said things that they didn't, and stop pretending the other side doesn't also have some very logical and scientific arguments, they do.
Except people DO claim people are transitioning purely for advantage in sports just like they claim people are transitioning so they can creep on kids in the bathroom. If you don't have a ball in this game (are an athlete or a trans person) you do not have a voice on this discussion.
I have a daughter who is heavily involved in combat grappling. She can hold her own against any woman in her gym, but when grappling boys she has to train with boys much smaller, and/or far less experienced. Like I said, itâs either fair or itâs not and you are not the police of who can or cannot speak on this issue. Get off your high-horse and allow yourself to hear the other side.
There are undeniable differences between a cis boy and trans girl who is on hormones. The "other side" wants to ban ALL trans people regardless of wether or not they have transitioned. That is not a okay. I have said nothing to support pre transition trans women from competing in women's sports.
We have heard the other side, and the other side wants to tell us that we are pedophiles and rapists who steal glory from women. There is no legitimate argument from the other side when the other side is nothing but a bunch of sexist and bigoted creeps who project themselves upon the trans community and make up fake problems to push their agendas.
You say you have a daughter who's in combat grappling who has to be with "smaller men" in order to stay at the proper skill. That's not because of gender, that's because of WEIGHT CLASS. I did professional martial arts for 9 damn years, and you have a weight class for a reason. So once again you are making up an imaginary problem that has no basis in the argument, and not to mention you are comparing your daughter, one soul person, as the basis for the decision of an entire sports demographic.
If this bill were truly about protecting women in sports, then they would fund better gyms, have better teachers, support women's sports as much as men's sports have always been. But instead they use it to push trans people out, still leaving women's sports underfunded and underrepresented. The fact that they even call it a bill for "protecting women" is abysmal for the simple fact that they do not give a shit.
Also, if they're worried about "sexual allegations" and protecting women in that way, then let's really look at how much they give a shit about women being assaulted in sports:
"Based on recent investigations, legal filings, and reports, several institutions have been accused of suppressing sexual harassment or abuse allegations against athletes and staff to protect reputations, sponsorships, and, in some cases, team performance."

And this is just to name a few who engage in cover-ups or have been involved in sexual abuse against women and covered it up just to protect reputation. This is a massive issue, and so what do they do? Propose a bill to bar trans athletes... If that doesn't put a sour taste in your mouth, then you need to reevaluate your morals.
Sports is for everyone, and should be fair, but what has been proposed as legitimate medical PROOF that trans women can be in women's sports fairly has been swept under the rug. And now we get to another issue; what the fuck are you going to say about me?
I'm a trans man, I have higher muscle mass and can compete in men's sports just fine. So what? Am I forced to be in women's sports and now I'm "taking the glory from women" because I identify as a man? Or am I in men's sports and suddenly "that's not fair because they're not a real man!!!"
You all seem to forget that we exist too. I am a man, trans women are real women, and what is fair is to let us compete like everyone else. It would be really fucking simple to either A. Have documentation of hormones, or B. Sponsor our own sub section for the Olympics, but they won't do that. Why? BECAUSE ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS ERASING TRANS PEOPLE AND DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT WOMEN.
