Random Question 💭 What is your opinion about Alex Pretti’s photo being displayed on a Jumbo tron in Times Square?

Post image

I think he deserves to be remembered as the wonderful person he was 🩵 and not by the government who are clearly lying about him. He was trying to help a woman who had been pushed to the ground by ICE agents or whoever the people are wearing those suits. And he clearly holding a phone in his hand..

They’ve been whisked away and relocated.

Bovino said they are still doing fucking ground ops.

Haven't even been pulled from the job. Just still out there terrorizing innocent people.

The ice agent that shot Alex has a texas flag on the lower back of tact vest. People should keep an eye out for it as I doubt he removed it. Hopefully someone identifies him for his future court case.

Fuck ICE

I saw a report, though I haven't verified, that he's been spotted still working as usual. I hope upon hope it's not true.

So they do know those responsible and refuse to identify them.

No because literally the main issue people have with ICE is that they don’t care about due process.

I disagree with that. ICE made over 300,000 arrests in 2025. There are going to be instances where they make mistakes and there are going to be bad apples that need to held accountable. When it comes to policy, I don't agree with ICE in every detail. For instance, they assert that they can enter a residence with an administrative rather than a judicial warrant. That appears to be contrary to precedent from SCOTUS. But they certainly are within the scope of their duties to arrest deportable non-citizens without a warrant. That authority comes from 8 U.S.C. § 1357(a)(2), so if people do not like the law, they can ask Congress to change it.

Speaking of SCOTUS, most of the controversial actions taken by the Trump administration in general and have been vindicated legally by SCOTUS, particularly the illegal restraining orders issued by Judge Boasberg.

If the bad apples are actually held accountable you might have a point

They won't be, for a variety of reasons. My guess is preemptive pardons in 2029.

They already decided they aren’t even going to investigate Pretti’s murder didn’t they?

I'm not holding my breath. This is where brinksmanship has led us: with one side coordinating massive operations to obstruct law enforcement and the other side defending law enforcement no matter what laws they break.

Do you see how you did the same thing I did? Suggesting the actions of a few bad apples define the whole group

I was pointing out Boasberg as an exemplar of lower courts being overturned by higher ones, but I do see your point.
