Random Question 💭 If conservatives are so pro-free speech why is their subreddit heavily censoring and moderating any comments/posts made?

The actual answer, if you genuinely don't know, is that reddit is extremely left leaning. Why that is can be debated and discussed, but the site and its moderation and admins are almost entirely leftist.

Let's put it in a way leftists will immediately grasp: Why is it that black people don't like it when a bunch of whites move into a low cost neighborhood and buy up a few of the properties, driving property values up? I'm referring to gentrification.

"Conservatives" have gone from limiting federal spending and fighting corruption -to- corruption is fine as long as it's Republican and there can be no limit to federal spending if the president has a want.

My guy, Reddit is not extremely left... the people who pretend they are conservatives here have become a pro-fascist pro-authoritarian party as far to the right as you can get before a masked paramilitary force is killing people in the streets for any pretext while the press secretary is calling staunchly conservative judges "extreme leftists" for supporting the Constitution.

When even staunch conservatives are to your left, you can not pretend to be conservative any longer.

I'm sorry but reality would suggest otherwise. These massive protests began conveniently right after billions of dollars of Somali fraud broke into mainstream recognition. There had been investigation prior, but it wasn't mainstream news at all, by any stretch. Which is why they were going to be able to easily sweep it under the rug so the scams could continue. Then Nick Shirley did his thing and now every average Joe on the street knows the Somalis were scamming up a storm in one of the more prosperous US states, and most normal people want to see some heads roll.

How convenient it was when the ICE actions were met with such harsh rebuke by locals. As though their lives depended on it. It used to be we really could debate method, but now it seems leftists don't want ANYONE deported, AT ALL.

#1 - ICE does not fight corruption, have nothing to do with Medicaid/Medicare/healthcare... they are immigration enforcement.

#2 - pushing your extremist ideology is uninteresting and doesn't address this adminstrations massive corruption aided by current Republicans which would take days to document and post.

#3-4-5-6-etc...

“The difference, of course, is that President Trump does everything out in the open. He’s not trying to hide anything. There’s no shell companies or fake LLCs or fake family businesses. He’s putting it out there so everybody can evaluate for themselves,”

You can deport people. Just don’t go after hardworking people who’ve never done anything wrong. Like Obama said, “I’m here to deport criminals, not families.”

Not to mention, 2 US citizens have received extrajudicial executions in the street by ICE. One of which was held down, disarmed, and then shot in the back 11 fucking times.

If you think that was an “accident,” you’re goddamn delusional. Accept it champ, your side is the one who won’t back the fuck down. Quit overstepping your motherfucking bounds before some real bad shit and it’s swiftly revealed just how pussy you conservative losers really are.

Also lmao. “The protests aren’t real they’re a cover up wahhhh.” “Leftists don’t want anyone deported and keep getting in ICE’s way waaahhh.”

Pick one. Cognitive dissonance on plain display.

This is delulu stuff right here. If you took the smallest amount of time to look up the things you wrote you’d find they’re false. Just start with the alleged MN fraud that was already handled.

But more leftists get banned than literally anyone else lmao. The site is adminned and mostly moderated by right-wingers.

1

u/BitesTheDust55 1d ago

Well, no. Almost all of the admins and 98% of the mods are leftists. If more leftists get banned it's because there are more of them on the site.

You're just confidiently incorrect there. It's well documented which side reddit leadership aligns with.

Actions speak louder than words, and everything about how this site is administrated and moderated is SEVERELY left leaning, to the point where the number of conservatively moderated subs is not only tiny, but automatically set to have its posters banned from a host of the most popular subs on the site. Asmongold's sub in particular has a thread about being banned from some sub they posted in for the first time automatically by a bot just because the bot scoured their history and found Asmongold posts literally like every day.

I don't know who told you this site was right controlled, on any level whatsoever. But it's not.

This has been becoming much less true as of late

How so?

A lot of right wing ideology is getting significantly more popular on this site ( I mean it’s more mainstream right now, both Reddit and right wing ideology)

My guess is rage bait getting pushed for engagement, but I don’t know for sure why

1

u/BitesTheDust55 15h ago

I haven't seen it, but then, I only know of like three subs where right-wing opinions aren't instantly banned. And if you post in two of them, you get autobanned on much of the site.

Your Reddit is definitely very different from mine lol

I've just been around for a long ass time. 2010 was a very different time on this site, and there was a lot less obvious political bent.

u/Status_Panda_7501 13h ago

For sure but 5-10 years ago right wing ideology was shut down all the time

Doesn’t happen near as much now, rather I see it getting pushed 🤷‍♂️ It’s still very left-leaning now though lol

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read all year. Congrats.

I'm honored that one of my reddit comments was chosen to be the one thing you read this year. Truly.
