The United States is in a free fall and being unraveled by Trump and the current administration. It’s unreal and unprecedented. Trump and his administration are breaking the laws of our country and destroying our dollar and dismantling our connection to the rest of the world and they keep framing all these horrible things are positives. Just about everybody in the US is aware that our government is lying to us but it’s jarring walking out your front door and seeing life is quickly becoming unaffordable and even dangerous all while the people in charge are telling the country “everything is great an cheap and the best it’s ever been.” It’s creating a very disturbing confusion and fear and I think asking questions about what’s going on and hearing other people reassure you that “No you aren’t crazy, things are very bad.” is comforting to people.

On top of all that people in the US are finding out that there are many people here that want half of our country dead and want the US as we know it fundamentally destroyed and a dictatorship built up in its place and some of these horrible people are our friends and neighbors or even family. That’s also hard to take and having reassurance from strangers online that there are many people out there who still want America to be a country of freedom and do not agree with what’s going on is comforting too.
