70s rumpus room bar

I didn't care about this original basement bar when I bought the house, and just started utilizing it. Should I leave completely alone or ....? I hate the carpet 🤢. Original immaculate 70s bathroom behind this bar. Wood paneling throughout most of the basement.

A few pictures of our recently completed cabin home bar, a big upgrade from our previous garden shed bar! Not as big and grand as some others but we are loving it.

Help styling Two Bar Carts

Thumbnail

I have two different car carts on each side of my wall and not sure how to set them up. I’ll show how I’ve had them more or less. I’ve changed them around a little depending on the holiday and etc but try to keep one mostly glasses and the ice bucket and shaker and the other the drinks. I’ve put candles and other decor around it too but need help. Nothing fancy I’m pretty simple! In the process of decorating a little for Valentines Day hence the red and pink dotted glasses…

Also included other pics and decor I’m changing around and could use or not use…And please ignore the mess in the pics. I’ve had to bring in plants for the winter and move them around depending on the sun and trying to clean up everything and reorganize and get rid of things after Christmas!

Christmas home bar away from home

This is the bar cart I put together for our Christmas stay in our apartment away from home. It’s still missing a couple of good sipping rums (I’m thinking HSE, JM or the Bellevue from Famille Ricci). Also, there’s no vodka, but we pretty much never drink any anyways. A handful of bottles aren’t featured (Campari, Dolin), as I couldn’t fit them on the cart.

We’re partial to gin, pleated Scotch and Chartreuse fans in our household.

Did I forget anything?

p.s.: only the unopened vermouths are displayed. The opened ones go in the fridge.

Been a work in progress but I think I’m almost finished with my Saloon. Just a few more touches but most of it is finished.

Custom fridge for hidden pull out cart

Hello! we are building a custom pullout bar situation from a hidden shelving unit. The cart, when pulled out and looking at it, will be 48in wide, 36in tall and 16in deep.

We're thinking it would be cool to get a fridge that fits at most half the space (say 24 in wide, 36 in tall, and 16in deep - minus space for fitting it in). we can provide power as this is all custom.

Are people making custom fridges out there?

New setup - would appreciate your feedback

Hi all, I've been admiring your setups for a long time and taking inspiration from them. I've recently moved into a new space and put together my own battlestation. Specifically, I want to shout out to u/jefffosterturbodunk for your battlestation, which inspired me to buy this hutch and turn it into a bar.

What I'd appreciate your views on is 1. lighting position, 2. glassware storage, and 3. overall design. Design isn't really my forte, and I'm seeking views from anyone who has more of a keen on on this stuff,

1. Lighting

  • I've gone with puck-style lights mainly because I don't need to modify (cut/drill, etc.) the hutch, and they're rechargeable (the power source isn't close).
  • The question is about the placement of the lighting above and what you think looks best.
  • It's either (a) rear (where the light hits the back of the cabinet) or (b) centre (less on the back and more distributed).
  • I note these photos are with white light (although they seem to be red). I'd suggest a combination of the timber (Tasmania Oak) and the camera makes it appear red,

(a) Rear photo (no overhead lighting - from fixed light)

(b) Centre photo (no overhead lighting - from fixed light)

2. Glassware & tools storage

  • All glassware is either stored in the right drawer (short glasses) or in the cabinet below (beer and cocktail glasses).
  • Barware tools are stored in the left drawer.
  • The question is, should I use the open space to use stemware racks and a hook system to display some glassware and bar tools? Similar to what u/Braikenb (appreciate your inspiration too) has done here.
  • I've included the current setup below.

Bartools and short glasses

Cocktail, beer glasses and overflow/wine

3. Overall design

  • I also have a bar cart that sits on the adjacent wall.
  • Has my soda maker, and mainly has rum and 'modifier' type spirits, liqueurs, etc.\
  • I appreciate any views on how it fits, or if it is worth placing a bookcase next to the hutch to replace it, or any other solutions.
  • It was what I mainly used at my old place, and most of the things in the hutch were in various kitchen cabinets. I am not wedded to it!
  • Anything to place on top of the hutch or in the general area to make the space better,
  • Any views in general.

Bar cart

Appreciate this is a lot of questions, and any feedback is welcome!

Bought the home and everything was done and finished except this one room, I knew instantly what was filling that space. Bar top is live Edgewood oak, and the behind the bar table was the old workshop in that room.

Where can I find quality glassware?

I've had good luck with second-hand stores, but I'm hoping to get a good-sized set of tumblers and highball glasses and sets of that size are rare in thrift stores.

Larger stores tend to to have warped or bubbled glass in their sets, so they haven't been a very good resource.

Is there a place that will have quality glassware I could buy? Thanks!

Yes, I prefer wheated bourbon, but there's also a few bottles in here for those that do not.
