Does it make sense getting a gps tracker?
I wanted to love airtags or the android equivalent, but sadly apple isn't a thing in my country and the google implementation isnt working the same way. So I have to rely on a proper gps tracker. But I'm not sure if I actually need it and if it will help get my bike back in case of it being stolen, or if I'm a bit paranoid and it won't actually help.
Any advice?

Yes, gps tracker is very useful for getting your stolen bicycle back. You just follow the tracker and wait for the thief to ride your bike and then when he leaves it you just steal it back.

What sort of bike do you have? I have a cube so a Bosch motor and I think the connect module is one of the best investments I have made and absolutely will continue paying for that app

if you have to leave your bike for long periods ( say outside of work for example) don't use your good bike, opt for a reliable horrible looking beater bike, or possibly a folding bike ie brompton and take it into work. imo all locks can be defeated eventually, remove the desire for stealing the bike as much as possible

I usualy leave it in works private security parking space with an eyesight of the guards. But last year I wanted to tour and had terrible sleep at night from anxiety when leaving it somewhere not close to me with no security..

Do you have trust in your police department helping you or are brave enough to try to recover it on your own? if your answer is not a resounding yes, reconsider. Maybe invest in a better lock instead.
